New Trigger
« on: 26 Apr 2014, 17:00 »
Hi MarkV,

The new trigger is just a variant of the one you have been working on for me.  I have been away for a few weeks and have got a little 'cold feet' about going full out for wins only and would like to spread the risk on place bets as well.

Having the ability to adjust the trigger is important. e.g. I might change a certain range from 20%/80% (W/P) to 10%/90% and won't want to have to write a new trigger but editing the existing is fine.

Of course, being able to edit the range of BSP and Place odds at SP is also important.

Finally, having the ability to adjust the % amount of bank going on to the bet in the first place is also important.  I would then upload a txt file of horse names only.

So, at the moment I would like to the following ranges included please.

BSP range (Win)     %of bank bet       % on Win     %on place

3.7 - 4.0                    5%                       0              100
4.3 - 4.5                    5%                       0              100
5.9 - 6.8                    4%                     20                80

BSP range (Place)   %of bank bet       % on Win     %on place

1.59 - 1.68                5%                       0              100
2.18 - 2.3                  5%                     20                80

These ranges are inclusive but it would be useful to have a module that was between one figure and less than another if that was possible.  i.e. 5.9 to less than 6.8.

I hope I have explained properly but don't hesitate to call me something rude and explain further if you need me to.

Hi
Sorry it's taking a while. About 3/4 ready but I have a time problem over the next few days. Realistically you are looking at the weekend. I hope you are OK with that?

Hi
Attached is your trigger.

The trigger is fully adjustable on all price ranges, bank percentages and Win/Place split percentages. The ranges you specified above have been preset in the constants.

The trigger has been tested for correct operation and no problems were found, but please use it in test mode until you are confident with the way it works.

Hi MarkV et al,

Unfortunately the trigger hasn't worked properly over the weekend.  I loaded up over 160 selections and If the trigger had worked correctly it should have placed 26 bets.  In the end only 3 bets were placed.

I understand that MarkV has retired, so is there anyone else who can kindly help me please.  Unfortunately, I do not know how the triggers work properly.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi
I'll provide support on this trigger until you are happy with it.

Did you change any values in the constants for the price ranges? If you did please can you attach the trigger file you used.

Hi MarkV,

That's really decent of you, if it ever makes any money I'll remember who my friends were.

Anyway, on the Saturday I left the trigger as it was but I did amend the variables on the Sunday.

Amended trigger attached.

Guys,

I hope I'm not saying the bleeding obvious but the way the trigger should work is that if the condition for betting is met twice then it should fire two bets.  i.e. BSP is 6.0 and Place odds are 2.2 then two bets should be placed.

Thanks once again,

Rob
