  • I would like a trigger created but looking at the posts I have found half a trigger but need help amending it.

At the moment I look at the at the races website at 12 at the top ten drifters. I then place a bet on that horse 25 mins before the race to back it. Then 5 mins before races lay to get a 10 % profit.

So the trigger attached does all the back setting but I need it amend to add the lay section.

  • Can this trigger be amended so if the greening up in not match up before the off it is kept in play to see if it gets matched

  • hi
the green up trigger is set to Keep so the bet should go until matched or the race has ended.

  • can I ask I was looking at the trigger logs today or system and I seen one or two entries like the below. It states that horse backed as 1.01 but I thought the min back was set for 2.00 or is that just how the trigger log reports it

Horse Racing / GB / Bang 3rd Jan / 15:50 2m NHF 03 Jan: Going to BACK £ 10.00 at 1.01 on selection 'Born Naughty'. Bet is matched. If unmatched, bet will be cancelled at In-Play. The bet was placed/cancelled by Trigger "Back".

  • hi
your trigger is set to take the best price , so when the price is between 2 and 100 the trigger sends a bet out at 1.01 to guarantee getting matched at the best price.

  • When you say best price is that because the greening up setting is at a certain percentage or is it another setting in the trigger that dictates that match

  • hi
    check your original trigger.
the betting/back trigger is set to best in the price box so this tells betfair that you will take whatever price is available at the time the bet was placed , if you only want 2 or more price then change the best to 2 and betfair will give you the best price of 2 or more.
but if the price moves very quick to 1.99 the bet will be unmatched.

  • If I wanted to set that setting so it only places between 2 and 9 would I set it there and if so how does it need to be written
  • #11 by mcbee on 05 Jan 2017
  • hi
you can replace the best with 2 , then betfair will only match at 2 or more.
you cannot set the price between 2 and 9 because betfair will always match the bet with the best price available at your set minimum price.

  • So is the no where in settings u can restrict it place abet no higher than 9
  • #13 by mcbee on 05 Jan 2017
  • hi
in your back trigger you will see
and selections back price is between 2 and 100
change the 100 to 9 then the trigger will only place a bet if the price is between 2 and 9 , but sometimes the price will be 9 and jump higher , then betfair will match it at the higher price most times it will be ok.
