score_exist

The score_exist variable only becomes available during in-play, is that correct, can this info be determined pre-off?

as soon as the score is available from Betfair, score_exists changes from 0 to 1, I'm sure this can only occur when the market is in-play.

you can check pre-off if a market will go in-play:
markets in-play mode is supported
no guarantee there will be a market score, but it likely there will be
