  • Hi,
Has Betfair incorporated the live tennis scores in their latest API ?
If so, are they being imported to the MFP API ?
If not are there any plans to do so in the near future.
I'm away from my computer so unable to check.
    Thanks

  • There is no such information in the new API. I doubt it will be available in the near future.

  • Hi Tim,
    Thanks for responding.
Not much help for tennis bettors. We were at least getting some scores from them
previously and had hoped for some improvements. But alas we now have gone backwards and getting nothing !!
I wonder what Betfair would have to say about that.
Can you ask ? as it is very difficult betting using a bot when we don't have a clue what the score is. I'm sure soccer punters would be up in arms if they weren't updated when goals were scored.
    Cheers

  • R, as a tennis bettor could you suggest a scheme how the score should be presented in MF pro? I mean should it be match score, or set score, etc.?
    Thank you.

  • Tim, The standard format as displayed on scoreboards at tennis grounds and via the media would be ideal.
    example:
    Murray  1  0  1    0  40
    Nadal    0  1  0    1  15
To save space we could eliminate the player name. Top player would be index 1.
Also it would be ideal to allow sufficient columns for up to 5 sets to cater for the 4 grand slam
tournaments namely French Open, Wimbledon Open, US Open and Australian Open.
This should not be too difficult for Betfair and MFP to implement. Betfair will no doubt capture this data in real time and just a matter of them playing ball with their API contractors.

  • Tim,
I'd like to add one more feature and that is some code to denote
which player is on serve. Again, this is basic info required by any
    bettor using a bot.
As with any sport especially Tennis, well informed entry and exit points are
essential in developing a trigger and who is on serve is one of the major
    considerations.
Without real time scores it is virtually impossible to build a profitable trigger
    when betting 'in play'

    Thanks

  • Hi Tim & Oxa,

Attached is a copy of the Betfair real time score sheet.
This is available via Betfair. It is now a matter of:

    a) If Betfair is willing to provide the data to MFP
    and
    b) If MFP is willing to write the code to provide this data to its subscribers.

The layout is as I mentioned earlier, and with the dot representing who is on serve. The only modification would be to allow for 5 sets.
This is a fundamental data requirement for betting in play on tennis.
    Thoughts appreciated

  • Yes, we know. Unfortunately BetFair decided to not include this information into the API. MF is an official API solution so we have to not parse the site. We'll do all our best to implement any information that we can get. Thank you for your suggestions.

  • OK, for now it's a no go.
For almost three years I've been trying to build a scalping trigger for tennis, mostly using MFP as an API. At one stage we were getting point and set scores and the future looked promising. But now nothing and no indications that real time data will follow. If all is well between MFP and Betfair I find it quite appalling that they will not provide this data when in fact they have this data themselves and may even provide it to other API's
I know it sounds like sour grapes but why a company like Betfair refuses to play ball and provide the very basic of data is beyond me..... I know it is out of your control
if they won't do it... then they won't do it.  and that is that.
