Testing
« on: 10 Mar 2015, 11:35 »
Hi.

I am looking for software to automate an in-play strategy that I use.

Before installing Market Feeder Pro, I would like to check if it can do what I need.

I want it to place a back bet at a price lower than SP (I will tell it what price before the start of the race), I then need it to place a lay bet at a lower price and spread the profit across all selections. However if the back bet is placed and the odds start to drift, I need it to place a lay bet at higher odds and spread the loss across all selections.

Can it do this?

Thanks.

Yes to all requirements, with the minor exception that the SP is only determined after the race starts so MFP is not aware of this until then.

There are several examples of this type of trigger being discussed if you do a search you will find them. the common issue with this strategy is that a widening gap can occur between the lay and back prices almost at any stage. So you would need to learn how to counteract that by looking at the examples.

Hi LarpHager.

I have done a search, but there is just so much info. I can't seem to find what I need. Have you got a link?

Thanks.

Hi LarpHager.

I appreciate your replies and realise that you are busy with Cheltenham.

I have looked through quite a lot of searched posts and have also watched some videos. I'm not sure if this software will do what I need, it looks as if it wants to automate everything.

There is only one selection in certain races that I want it to trade on. I need to check the price before the off and manually put in what I want it to trigger a back bet with. From there It can do the rest automatically.

I have been doing this manually using Gruss, but I quite often miss the initially back bet due to not being quick enough. I realise that there's a 1 sec delay in-play, but I'm sure a bot will trigger it more than I will.

I realise that people are busy in the middle of the day, but any help would be appreciated when you have the time.

Thanks.

Hi
I am fully sure the software can handle your requirements.

The problem will always be getting the initial back bet matched if you are waiting until the price drops. It might get matched when the price rises again, in which case you might not get the lay price you want. AS well as getting "layed"  :D ;D

I have attached a sample trigger. It will back the Index 1 horse if the price is lower that 7 and put a green up lay in when back bet is matched. In the trigger conditions, you can change the index to whatever horses index you want to back. In the main settings tick ShowSelectionsIndex.

Or you could decide earlier in the day which horses you want to back in each race and then import them into Mfpro and it will trade only on those selections. And you can a stoploss trigger to it for when you miss the lay price.

I tested this and it works fine, but test it yourself to get used to it.

If you want a fully comprehensive trigger to cover all of your conditions, I would use the Request A Trigger service from an Mfpro professional. Their trigger will be the one best served for your purpose and its inexpensive and totally worth it.

Do you know that you can use a text file having the names and the odds of the horses you want to bet on!

Thanks both for the help.

I'll see how much someone will charge to set this up.
