Trading the Underdog
« on: 21 Dec 2012, 04:48 »
Hi,

I am willing to share my trigger with this community on the basis that we help each other out and find unique opportunities in the market. I believe that there are thousands of different strategies out there that can work, it all comes down to match selection and discipline.

This trigger tries the following:
Lay the underdog (away team) before HT when 0-1 and Back Over 1.5 goals before HT when the underdog is 0-1 ahead, under certain conditions. To work we need to load the following markets: match odds, HT market and O1.5.

I also tried to get a delay, so that a better price is achieved.

I think the trigger is too complex in what it is trying to achieve, but simplification is best.

Any input welcome...

Van Basten,

Thanks for sharing - how has it been going?

Where are its strengths/weaknesses as it stands now?

Do you have any stats on the results it has given ?

I disabled the O1.5 trigger as the rare 0-1 final score still eats most profits over the long run, just like in laying the 0-0 score line does. Maybe look into backing O2.5?

The trigger is profitable if you pick the right games. These include the major leagues, so don't use U20, cup games etc.

The trigger could be modified, say green up when 1-1 score is achieved, rather then letting it run until FT.

By placing the trigger on the forum I am looking for input on changing it, making it better, removing any errors in it etc.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
