  • Can someone please help me with coding this trigger, it's a bit beyond me at the moment:

IF there are any bets where the same selection is backed twice or more
THEN enter a place back bet on that horse, so that the winnings from the place bet will cover the stakes on the existing back bets.

    Notes:
the back bets will have differing stakes.
in a race there could be more than one horse that fits the condition

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • hi
how are you placing the first lot of bets in the win market

  • The best are placed by another bot. They are usually placed in the minute before the off, as high odds unmatched bets to begin with. I think this is a method that allows small stake bets to be placed, although I am always placing bets above the minimum stake.

  • hi
you need to give a time to place the bets, as if a selection has 2 bets matched, the place bet will be sent out, but if you have 3 bets waiting to be matched on a selection as soon as 2 bets are matched the bet would be placed, leaving the unmatched bet without a place bet when it gets matched.

  • OK I see,
how about the trigger runs say 10s or so after the off, and only deals with matched bets. At the moment all the bets placed by the other bot do get matched.

This is only to try out an idea, so I'm not worried if there are some situations where it doesn't work exactly, or if the prices move a bit before the cover bet is placed.

I am able to tweak the trigger once I've got a basic model to work with. Thanks.

  • Thanks for this - it's really helping me to understand the trigger operation, especially the system variables.
Just one question - how does the trigger know that the bet it submits is for the place market?
Should the trigger run for Place Markets rather than All Markets?

  • hi
the winplace condition will only work if there is a bet placed in the oposite market.
but if you want to be sure then just set the trigger to place markets.
and it is good that you are learning, well done
