Trigger usage questions - beginner
« on: 31 Jul 2013, 22:12 »
Hi there,

I have some (what I imagine are basic) questions regarding the implementation of triggered betting. Hopefully this is straightforward for someone to help!

Question 1 - Is it possible to run multiple triggers at any one time. For example, if I choose tomorrow to run the Lay HiPro86 SP4 on all greyhound races and simultaneously run the Back Accumulator staking plan to all horse races can this be done? If so, how?

Whenever I select a trigger file, only one shows in the 'upload' section once I have selected my chosen markets.

Question 2 - When running a staking plan in the Greyhound market the problem I have is making sure I get bets placed in all markets. In the time that the trigger is waiting for the results of a race that starts at 20:37, there may have been another 5 races nationwide.

Perhaps it would be possible to run one trigger per racecourse? So then there would be enough time between races for the results to feedback, and for the correct stake to be assigned to the next bet.

Question 3 - Are the triggers available on the website the finished article and ready to use, or do most users use them as a basis and then tinker with them to suit their particular plan?

Question 4 - When I am running a 'Lay the Favourite' trigger, the favourite is decided as the selection with the lowest odds at around 60 seconds before the race begins. However, as betfair prices fluctuate at the point before a match, it often chooses a selection that ends up being second favourite in terms of the final starting price.

Just wondered if anyone has experienced / overcome this in the past?

Also, has anyone ever run a staking plan where they lay a selection tipped as a favourite in the racing post, but one that is not the favourite on the live markets minutes before the off? Just curious on this one really?

Hopefully someone can help - and apologies if these questions are schoolboy ones!
Thanks
Jon

hi
answer to question 1.
it is done by using 2 profiles
1 profile set for the greyhounds and 1 set for the horses
the staking plans would have to be altered to use the greyhound and horse statement info, gh stands for greyhound and hr stands for horse racing.
answer to question 2.
again you would use 1 profile per meeting.
answer to question 3.
the triggers are ready to use, but they are there to learn and add your own conditions to suit your betting strategy.
answer to question 4.
the closer to the start time the better for selecting the favourite.

I didn't even know that this is possible. Thanks for the mini guide.
