  • I ran a trigger this afternoon, the trigger is a clone of a trigger I have already run today with no problem.
    The bet passed the conditions.
When the lay bet was attempted, I got the error
Error in the trigger expression of price …
For the life of me I cannot see an error. Anybody see the problem?
I attach both the trigger and screenshot of the error message.

  • Seems the trigger expression you use in triggers is written wrong...

  • Thanks for that
Where is it wrong though? Why do two other versions of the same trigger work perfectly

  • Hard to say without seeing the trigger expression...
It could be differently parsed in different cases...

  • Hi
Not understanding you tbh. First time this has happened to me in six years of using, also the whole trigger worked fine the day before and nothing had been changed. Oh well I will see if it works today. If not will put it down to one of those things, and add those selections to a different part.

  • Hello!

Most likely the error is due to your trying to lay a bet below the minimum at a price that is too low to produce a decent liability. BetFair does not approve of this.

Please increase your base price for small lay bets (see "Betting Options") or increase the bet amount to stop this error from reoccurring.

  • Hi
So the trigger does not have an error as such.

Though a £4.09 bet at near 20/1 would create a decent liability of £77.70.
Oh well I will just delete that trigger and carry on

  • To debug your triggers in the future, turn on Log trigger expressions in the Logger Options.

This way you will see what exactly the trigger expressions in Price and Amount amounted to, and will be able to spot an error in any variable.
