  • Can anyone help please?
What is the variable for the sp lay price?
I'm guessing it's lay_sp but I can't find it in the list of market variables.

  • near_sp (for the one on the lay side)
far_sp (for the one on the back side)

  • Thanks for the speedy response Purity.
I can see your suggestions on the list of variables.
So what is the difference between these and the variable actual_sp?

  • far_sp is the SP if the market were reconciled at the present moment using only SP bets which had been placed on the exchange.
near_sp is the SP if the market were reconciled at the present moment (Betfair refer to this as the projected starting price).
actual_sp is only available once the market has actually been reconciled at the start of the race.

  • So if I wanted to lay at starting price, I should use actual_sp?

  • If the race had gone in-play, then yes, lay with actual_sp as the price. Anything done pre-play would either take a chance on near_sp, be placed as an SP lay bet, or placed as lay bet that will take SP if unmatched before the off.

  • Thanks for the explanation Purity.
I wanted to set the trigger to take the sp price at the off so I guess I need to use actual_sp

  • Yes actual_sp is only available in play, so you might not get matched at that price.  I never found it was worth it due to frequency of unmatched bets, so I just lay as close to the off as possible.

  • That's what I wanted the trigger to do.
I had thought to use market's minute's before the start, but sometimes there is a late start.
What is your method to get the price as close to the off as possible?

Download race status (ticked) in settings.

Add this block after your main trigger entries which should include: Market's minutes before the off is less than 0.1
               AND
Market's Race status is At the Post
OR Market's Race status is Going Behind

This will cope with any delays to the race start. I think these are only available for UK/Ire horseracing.
