'First Matching Selection' criteria
« on: 04 Sep 2014, 07:50 »
Hi

Quick question about 'First Matching Selection.'  The manual says that this uses price as the deciding factor when more than one selection meets the requirements. My question is this:

what happens if more than one selection have the same price?

(This scenario is very common in horse place markets, so it's not just a theoretical question.)

Does MFP automatically use another criteria then to make only one selection?
Does MFP place a bet on all the qualifying selections?
Does MFP not place a bet as it can't select a single matching selection as more than one selection meet the requirements?

At the moment I add a condition to my triggers that says 'sorting order is defined by sel_index' to ensure that a selection is made, but I would rather not have unnecessary conditions in my triggers.

Hi! Sorry for the belated reply, but in case this is still actual:

Does MFP automatically use another criteria then to make only one selection?

The order of selections is determined by these parameters: back price, if equal then -> lay price, if equal then -> selection's index.

Does MFP place a bet on all the qualifying selections?

No, since the final criterion is the selection's index, only one selection is picked in the end.
