'in the file' - Not working with AU markets
« on: 13 Mar 2017, 10:55 »
Remember in AU markets the sel_name includes the saddle cloth number. Unlike other markets.

Therefore your names in the text file must in the saddle cloth no with a . and the name
"1.Black Caviar"

Perhaps an update in the next version by support will change this.

Yes, of course it must include everything that there is on BetFair.

But why does this mean the option is not working?

Perhaps I should have used a question mark at the end of the thread topic.

I'm saying 'in this file' not working in AU markets? here's why...

Did you enclose each name in double quotes and included spaces where appropriate, e.g. after the dot?

On betfair - 1.Black Caviar
'In the file' - "1.Black Cavair" no space after the dot

My issue is at no point did anyone suggest the saddle cloth issue with AU markets. I suppose I didn't say they were Au markets initially either. The manual doesn't mention these vagaries in the AU markets when talking about 'in the file'

Credit to Moderator MarkV who mentioned the fact in a discussion post.

I appreciate it can be easily overlooked. However, could the manual be updated with a Note* that mentions selections names in AU markets should be checked using view User variable to confirm the inclusion of the saddle cloth. I recall greyhounds have a similar issue?

What I meant was that if there is a space after a dot, it should be put there (like in the screenshot attached). If there isn't, then of course it shouldn't. I have just tested "is in file" comparison operator and I can confirm that it works.

The manual did not mention the saddle cloth specifically, because "is in file" can be used for looking for anything at all, not only names. But I will include a paragraph on this somewhere in the manual.

Finally I have it working.
What I learned.

The name for AU horse racing markets format is "1. Name of Horse" :- space after the dot
Secondly, the folder names where the file resides MUST NOT HAVE any spaces in the name eg. c:\Dropbox\Jacks Tips
will not work however c:\Dropbox\Jacks_Tips WILL WORK.

folder names where the file resides MUST NOT HAVE any spaces in the name.

You are right, this does look like a bug and thank you for figuring this out.
I have added this to our future bugfix list. For the time being you can indeed try saving the file in a folder with no spaces in the name.

Hello!
Can you help me?
What is the condition for importing the name?
I'm trying to use "The selection name is in the <c:\file> file" but it is not working.

Hi
if it's Greyhound markets the trap number is part of the selection's name, your text file should look like:

"2. Mill Pablo"
"4. Rubys Razzle"

some more info here

if your trigger still does not work, use a simple price and amount and test, if it works now the problem is in your price or amount
