  • Hi Oxa
Nothing serious. Just running the installation from within the previous version update dialog generates this error. If you then close the previous version the installation continues OK.

  • Mark, perhaps the previous MF Pro was running when you tried to reinstall, thus creating a file sharing violation. You have to close it down before it can be rewritten.

  • Hi Oxa
Yes, the previous version was running. I just wanted to draw your attention to the process for the update from within the previous version:

    start previous version
message appears notifying of new version and would you like to update now
answer yes and follow on screen instructions
    the above error is generated
manually close previous version running in the background
    installation proceeds OK

i.e. the installation process does not automatically close the previous version, nor does it tell you to do so. This could be frustrating and confusing.
Of course if I download the installation file and run it without Market Feeder Pro running, all is in order.

  • I couldn't imagine that someone would try to reinstall whilst the previous version is running - never tried to do that myself!
But what you say makes sense Mark. A warning will do I guess.

  • hi oxa
this happens because we get , there is a new version available window when we open the bot.
so most would say yes to download and then install straight away.

  • see pic - and in fact if I try to close the previous version while it is downloading, when download is complete, the download list says "the file has been removed" and I cannot install.

  • Oxa you're just an IT freak, not everyone is like you ... you should check the running process and ask the user to close them or for your install to close them.

Some install normally show you the processes that need to be closed for installation to complete successfully.

  • Agree with everything, will amend the installation routine.
