Application crashing in Windows 7
« on: 26 Jan 2014, 14:47 »
I've the latest version of MFP and it keeps crashing 90% of times I access the statement.

Deleting all logs make it work for a while, probably as soon as they are generated again the problem is back. Check the attached file for a screen shot.
You'll notice that even the statement web page looks corrupted.

Unluckily reinstalling MFP doesn't fix the issue.

I would like to check with the previous version/versions of the program but at http://marketfeeder.co.uk/buy/ the link and the foot of the page is poiting, actually, to the current one (7.1.0.10), the version I've already.

Hi
Some suggestions:

Please can you try making a new profile and see if the statement works OK in the new profile.

Also, do you have plenty disk space available?

Make sure the program has full access through antivirus and firewall.

Run the program as Administrator.

Hi Mark,

> Please can you try making a new profile and see if the statement works

Recreating profile / changing it works sometimes (and sometimes not) but even recreating the same profile with the same settings, the ones I need, it crashes again.

Is there any "sensible" settings - known to generate problems - I should disable?

> Also, do you have plenty disk space available?

Yep, 33 GB on a SSD disk.

> Run the program as Administrator.

Already running as admin.

Mark, do you have a working link to version 7.0.9? I would like to give it try...

Hi
The statement works OK here on 7.1.0.10 .

Sorry, I do not have a 7.1.0.9 or earlier installation file. mcbee might, or I'm sure Support will correct it on the download page.

Two more suggestions:

Try another browser, or check browser settings (security etc.)

Data Execution Prevention:
Set Data Execution Prevention exceptions as follows (courtesy mcbee):
open control panel
select system and security
select system
select advanced system settings
in performance , select settings
select Data Execution Prevention
IF it is set for DEP for essential windows programs, then set it to DEP for all programs and services except those i select
select Add
local C:
Program File
MarketFeeder Pro 7
feeder 7
THEN select Add again
select teditor
Apply
OK
if you use other software you might have to include these in the except list.

hi
if all was ok upto a few days ago, then your computer must have had a software update that has caused the error.
roll back/restore your computer to a time before the error started.

Hi,

I'm still having the same issue. MFP works fine but when I close it and try to restart, application crashes. There is no relaunch, reboot or suggested fix of any kind that has solved it.  In the meantime I had also to reinstall the OS so I can exclude it's a question of a corrupted Windows installation.

The problem is clearly the test statement, as soon as I delete the related .csv files, MFP crashes no more - of course, until next time  :)

Also creating a new profile just delay the problem which is going to happen again later, just let the test statement to grow enough and it's still there.

Not looking for a fix anymore (i'm just deleting the logs) but maybe you should consider it as a bug to correct in future versions.

Hi
Just a thought on this. Do any of your trigger names contain characters that are not letters or numbers, e.g. £$%^& etc.?

Hi MarkV,

yes, in my triggers names I use underscores, as "_", nothing else.
Do you have reports of such names causing troubles?
In that case i'll try a renaming.

Hi
There were some problems with quotation marks in trigger names and their associated log files. It's got to be worth a try.

Layne and vlada_dee, on top of what was advised before, try clearing your logs completely, as one buggy file may get in the way of all logs.

Settings -> Betting Options -> Triggered Betting -> At the start of the program clear log records older than ... days

Set this to 0 (0 days), and after the logs have been cleaned up, turn that setting off.
Always try your triggers in Test Mode before switching to real money!
