Autogreenup
« on: 11 Sep 2013, 09:42 »
Hi,

Has anyone had any problems with auto greenup?

I am using V6 and I rarely use this function, but set it this morning as a trial on three races with some mixed backs and lays in the UK horse win markets with the profit set to 5% and "Always attempt to greenup" selected.

I had £3.98 backed at odds of 38 on Latenightrequest in the 14:00 Donc and I now find I have lays on that selection for £3.31 in a number of bets at prices from 180 - 260.  (well done if any of you picked those up as great backs!)  There are bets on other selections in that race.

I looked for ages to see which of my triggers had gone arry to place such stupid bets only to find autogreenup was the culprit as shown in the action log.

Can anyone understand a possible cause for that - it is now switched off and will remain so for ever more !  Would it possibly have taken unmatched back bets into consideration ?

I realise that "Always attempt to greenup" is taking unmatched bets into account so you can end up with a greenup lay against a back bet that never got matched.

Watch out for that one folks !!

Do you have Allow Small Bets on?

I sent an email to Support yesterday as I am suspecting this is not working properly and is messing up the green-ups.  However, I do not want to rush to judgement.  I'm still waiting on feedback from Support.

Hi
Auto-greenup will green-up (or distribute loss according to the settings) on ALL selections in the market as soon the opportunity for green-up or stop-loss occurs. It cannot distinguish bets placed by a trigger waiting for individual green-up or stoploss by another trigger.

Also, auto-greenup does not take into account the spread between back and lay price. It will distribute loss at the first available price in the market.

The only way that I know of that triggers and auto-greenup can work together, is to submit only the opening order with a trigger, and then use auto-greenup to close the trade. Other than that the two don't mix.

Agreed Mark, but I had previously assumed it would only attempt to green up MATCHED BETS.  It acutally tries to green up unmatched ones as well sometimes resulting in a lay matched with no back matched (or vice versa).

I do have "Allow small bets" selected.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
