Backing at SP
« on: 17 Dec 2011, 23:06 »
How can I back the third SP favourite? That is, the race has started and the SP's are calculated and set.

How can I back the third ranked SP favourite?

I've noticed that I can nominate my selection to be the third favourite and set the trigger to back at actual_sp, but it seems to me that as soon as I start monitoring the race, or even make the condition that triggering is not to apply until (say) three seconds before start, the ranking of favourites is performed at that stage, rather than at turning in-play.

I noticed a horse I backed last night was actually the third ranked just before the race, but was 5th ranked at SP.

Am I doing something wrong in my settings?

Thanks,

bobh

I believe it can't be done.

how can you back the third SP fav at SP
when the third SP fav isn't known until the market turns inplay
and SP betting has closed.

Closest you'll get is a "remember" and "back" function combination.

 remember rem_market_id
 all selections
 where minutes before off is <= 0
 execute once per market.

 back at SP
 where rem_market_id_sel_index =3
    and rem_market_id_number >=3
execute once per market

It may be more profitable reading the Bulletin Board as
backing at SP and/or Inplay with triggers or bots is for losers.

Don't believe me ?
Just review the numerous betting schemes and strategies
 that are already perforate this Bulletin Board.

All the SP and Inplay schemes have gone by the wayside.

Right from;
 OXA's -Trigger to calculate the time til race end
to
 amateur statisticians that back market blowers at SP then lay back inplay.
                           (and/or vice-versa)

All gone.

 So Happy Punting
(and reading for you too)

Thanks Apples,

Once I understood how Betfair calculate the SP I realised I was trying to achieve the impossible.

Thanks also for the trigger, and your other comments.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
