Bet not made mystery!
« on: 26 Mar 2019, 17:26 »
Here is an extract from a log. Please can someone advise me why the LAY bet at 16:34:57 did not get placed as I can't see any reason for it not to have happened. It's strange that the error relates to the BACK placed at 16:34:13 bet but took 43s to be reported. Thanks

16:34:13    Horse Racing / GB / Here 26th Mar / 16:30 Here 26th Mar - 2m6f Nov Hrd: Going to BACK £ 0.70 at 1.01 on selection 'Talktomenow'. Bet is unmatched. The bet was placed/cancelled by Trigger "Back A".
16:34:56    There is an error with an action that has caused the entire order to be rejected;0.70 at 1.01 - Bet cannot be cancelled or modified as it has already been taken or has lapsed. Includes attempts to cancel/modify market on close BSP bets and cancelling limit on close BSP bets
16:34:57    Horse Racing / GB / Here 26th Mar / 16:30 Here 26th Mar - 2m6f Nov Hrd: Going to LAY £ 0.70 at 2.78 on selection 'Talktomenow'. Bet is unmatched. The bet was placed/cancelled by Trigger "Lay A"
16:36:30    Special log message from trigger "In play finished"

hi
when betting below the betfair limit , there is a delay due to 2 pound been placed then 0.70 been placed then the 2 pound is cancelled which leaves the 0.70 bet.
the lay bet was placed but again it has to go through the same betting bet 2 then 0.70 then cancel the 2 and leave the 0.70.

Thanks Mcbee. That explains the lack of LAY bet but it doesn't explain the error message relating to the earlier BACK bet...??

hi
it say's
Quote
cancel/modify market on close BSP bets and cancelling limit on close BSP bets

if your trigger is set to take bsp then it cannot due to bsp bets need to be a minimum of 10 pounds so this would give an error.

The bet was set by an in-play trigger (and set to KEEP although obviously that won't matter in-play) so there must be another reason for the error??

This looks like a failure to match the lay bet due to the price available  being above that at which the order was placed: 2.78
As mcbee explained bets below the limit take longer to be matched, particularly in-play.  Try using a faster refresh rate in-play.

Thanks - I understand why the LAY bet was not matched.

However the question remains as to why there is an error at16:34:56 relating to the back bet which was placed at 16:34:13 and was matched.

Not certain, but it's probably an anomaly of in-play betting below the limit, where the program automatically cancels the £2 portion.  To bet below the limit in this case the program would need to submit an order of £2.70 at the highest price, bet would be unmatched, then reduce the bet amount to £0.70 and adjust the price to the one requested.   I wouldn't recommend in-play betting below the limit.  It is OK before the off (although against BF's rules), but in-play there are just too many problems.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
