Hi all,

Sorry I am very distressed. I have started using MFP only for a few days. Have been placing some small bets with my small deposit. Have monitored a few markets (mostly dogs). Have bought some data via Time Machine.

Yesterday they suspended my account asking for verification document. I provided them.

Today they closed my account on 'business ground' without any reasons.

Live chat agent isn't helpful at all - they don't provide further reasons. AND I CANNOT OPEN ANOTHER ACCOUNT. This is really annoying. :-\

I have read several forum threads of members having similar situations. Just looking for some advice from the wise traders here...

Any advice is welcome...

Specify how much did you stake and how many markets did you monitor? "Small bets"  and  "few" markets doesnt say much.

I have staked less than £30 in total over the last couple of days. Each bet is under £1 (unless MFP failed to match that with a back bet to offset my liability)

Number of markets monitor - UK greyhound Win markets for 5 days. With around 100 races each day I will say around 500 markets.

Yer you can't be betting less that £2 I'm afraid.. it is against their T&C's

Your only hope is to send an email begging them AND telling them EXACTLY how you intend to bet going forward... with a plan that makes sense... how many markets you will be monitoring... and how much you will be staking... etc.

Thanks that's my only hope I guess...
Just wondering if anyone has ever been succeeded in reversing their decision...

Yes I was successful and had my account reinstated... That's why I know they are really gonna push you on how you intend to use the account going forward....

Thank you!!! This really gives me some hope in getting my account back...
May I ask how much details you give them? I intend to send a spreadsheet or a list of bet I used and promises that I won't do that again...
And did you email their info mailbox? Which particular email did you send to? Sorry for asking all these but really appreciate if you could point me to the right directions...

Dont forget to let us know how your case ended. I've just read on other forum that someone got his account blocked and it wasnt someone using any bots. He claims if was after huge win. Betfair goes to drain :(

That's a lot, considering you've only placed a few real bets, and they were under the minimum allowed amount.

Find a way to increase the number of real bets and decrease the load on their server. Their rules have become much stricter over the last year.

If his huge win was on the Sportsbook, I would expect the account to be closed, just like any other bookmaker.  I doubt it would happen on the exchange as they need winners to make profit for them, unless there were some unusual betting patterns on his account.

In theory. Was explained by somebody that may be the case that he won on a market which BF traders funded and they are not happy about that. No idea if this is possible but heard exactly the same stories about matchbook so I wouldnt be surprised. Anyone with opinion? If this is true BF cannot be considered as safe place to bet.

I did place real bet in horse racing market (both wins and losses within £20).
Usually how long does it take for their API/developer team to get back? I've written to them last Friday. Will wait for a few working days :(

I wrote to Betfair Developer Support as suggested by others in this thread. The response I received just now is disappointing and frustrating:

''Your account was closed due to 'business grounds' (not related to data usage) and will not be reactivated.''

Bloody hell. Such as cold response. Not related to data usage so what could be the reasons? Is Betfair just randomly closing people's account as they wish?! :-[

This is bullshit and they know it. Even a monkey know that their "business grounds" IS FOR SURE about data usage, nothing else. This is not a random african country where bookmaker can do whatever he want and hide behind "business grounds". Simply means keeping money in BF isnt safe anymore. At least offered money refund? Doesnt matter anyway, today they shut down accounts, tomorrow they will keep money or make you struggle for months to withdraw. Pathetic behaviour. Nothing else to add.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
