« on: 24 Jan 2011, 14:35 »
Hi
Betfair have charged me for excess data usage on three separate occasions recently. I have contacted them and they are saying i have two instances of mfp running at the same time when i know i have not. Can anybody shed any light.

hi
make sure that you have the request limit set between 10 and 15, press the graph icon in the top right of the bot screen, make sure after setting that you press apply.

right click the mouse when on the bottom of the computer screen and choose task manager, then go to applications and you will see how many bots are running.

Hi mcbee
I have gradually decreased the request limit from 15 and it is now set at 5 due to constant bf charges, also task manager does not show another instance of mfp running, however bf seems to think there is.

Hi Keith,

Have you checked "Retrieve all price offers" option as I suggested you?
Also try to switch off all AUS related options if you don't need them.

hi
have requested a refund with these charges.
what version are you using.
ask betfair for a daily request usage so that you can work out the problem.
if you are using us,ausy etc, there results are slow and the bot will keep trying to get the results, at 5 times the request rate, if you are running live then delete the markets as the bets are matched, because your statement will show the win/loss for your selection.
it is good to have a trigger to stop refreshing after inplay or suspend.
and to stop refreshing after say .5 min after the start time, then if its a late start you wont waste refresh rate.
only monitor markets that you are betting on.
so if your condition is place bet after .50 mins, then set the monitor markets from .60 in the settings option.
if you monitor multiple markets at the same time this will increase your refresh load.

I did have this earlier this year. So what I did to counter this is to call them and ask for a limit on my account. Case close after that.
We only live once.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
