Betfair overnight bets
« on: 26 May 2020, 09:23 »
I am currently testing a US Horse Racing system, which for me means overnight (I'm in the UK). Last night there was a break in my selections between RemP 1:44 and RemP 3:28, and somewhere during that time period bets stopped being placed (luckily I'm still only testing, so there was no actual harm done).
There seems to be nothing in the MF logs after 1:44; I have it set to wake up 3 mins before the race starts - so I'm trying to work out what may have happened.

If there was a BetFair outage, or an ISP outage, would there not be a message in MF's logs to say it couldn't connect?

Hi
If there was a major API problem you would see errors in the program log.

Betfair Customer Services Twitter
https://twitter.com/BetfairCS
does not indicate any problem last night. Usually if there is any big outage it would be reported in here.

However, the Betfair API Status does show an update to status within the time you mention.

attached is screenshot showing the status update, if you hover your mouse over the word Operational, you will see when they were last updated. From this I would say there was a brief partial API outage last night.

Thanks, Mark - but would this cause MF to stop placing bets after this event?

After reloading the markets the following day (manually), it seemed to work again without needing a restart in between. Weird.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
