HI, Its anything under 80p rejected
Not quite. See the image attached. Probably has to do with the liability, not the bet size.

strange, ive tried to lay 1p at 50-1 and it got rejected, that is less liability than you managed to lay at

I've just tried 0.01 at 85 and also failed. But the liability in this case is £0.84 which is greater than what I laid in the previous message. So more guesswork and tests needed.

P.S.

I confirm that backing has not been affected.

I'm wondering whether Betfair are still playing with it...

My experience is...

After 2pm my triggers would have anything under 80p rejected. I confirmed this with the betting interface, using a wide range of prices. Then between 6pm and 8pm, anything under £1.60 was rejected, again using different prices with the betting interface. Then after 10pm, my triggers were ok with anything above 80p again. That's when I turned my triggers off.

BTW I always back first, then trade out with a lay. When I was using the betting interface, I was just laying from the outset, but the results were the same as the triggers after a back bet.

Now after Oxa's post it seems to have changed again.

I could not green up a back bet, see below.

Indeed, it looks like lay bets below £0.8 are not accepted. The one I managed to get through previously was a partially matched lay bet, i.e. I sent £2 GBP and only £0.57 got matched.

That scenario Oxa, is exactly what happens with me.

I have an idea for a workaround. Preparing an emergency release, more details later...

Here's the idea I mentioned above. The software will automatically place a compensation bet to balance the extra liability.

Ah yes, that's a great idea, I'll work that into my triggers.

It'll work as long as back bets don't become affected. I'm assuming the bet rounding practice that Betfair are trying to stop, can only be achieved using lay bets and therefore back bets may not be affected at any point...

Someone on the link I posted earlier said that you can bet below £0.80 if you lay at odds of 1.8 and above using the same method as before.

I've been doing some testing with this and it seems you can go right down to odds of 1.04 and use the same method as before. This shouldn't require too much reworking of MFP to change I wouldn't have thought. But an education to users that use very low odds of course.

Basically...

Send a lay bet of £2 at 1.03 and then change the amount to £0.20 in the unmatched bet column and it'll revert to £2.
Send a lay bet of £2 at 1.04 and then change the amount to £0.20 in the unmatched bet column and it'll stay at £0.20.

I used £0.20 to test and I've just tried to see how far you can go down and £0.20 is the lowest no matter what the odds. So this may not be acceptable to some people.

I have to say I find this whole palaver quite frustrating. My bets are based on the account balance and all yesterday's/last night's bets were missed due to this - made worse by the fact that they decided on an 80p minimum, and my bets were priced at 71p! Close, but no cigar.

The annoying thing is that I've been trying to keep a close eye on the performance of my trial system, and having to change the bet size now will mess up all the previous stats.

I do think BetFair have to tread carefully as to where they put the minimum - unless things have changed since last time I looked, Betdaq is 50p minimum, and Smarkets let you go to very small bets, but most people won't get to use the Smarkets API.

Thank you for the information! Will try to incorporate this into MF Pro.
