correct score profit anomaly
« on: 12 Jul 2018, 21:39 »
Hi,
with the attached correct score screenshot bet1.png, where 4.00 is to be put at 7.80 for 1-0, the what-if shows 25.84, and 4.00x(7.80-1)x0.95=25.84, looks correct.  :D

but then with screenshot bet2.png, 10.00 is to be put at 6.20 for 2-0, and the what-if shows -4.00 becoming 45.60. But ought it not be -4.00+10x(6.20-1)x0.95=45.40, there seem's a discrepancy of +0.20.   :-[

then with bet3.png, 3.00 is to be put at 60.00 for 1-2, the what-if shows -14.00 becomes 154.85, but oughtn't it be -14.00+3.00x(60.00-1)x0.95=154.15, there seems a discrepancy of 0.70.  :(

this 3rd screenshot is at 13:41:52, if I clear bets and rebet 3.00 at 60.00 for 1-2 as with bet3.png to get the 4th screenshot rebet.png, the what-if shows 168.15, and 3.00x(60.00-1)x.95=168.15 and it seems correct.  :D

so have I misunderstood how betfair calculates profits for correct score, or is there a bug?  :-\

thanks for any help
Richard

No.

(10*(6.2 - 1) - 4.0) - 5% commission = 45.60

that is wierd! :D

thanks for the explanation :)

just to check I have understood, do you make more money from multiple correct score bets (if one of the bets is correct) than if the same bets were hypothetically placed using multiple Betfair accounts eg bet1 from account1, bet2 from account2 and bet3 from account3 with the above example? ???

also with bet2.png for 2-0, if I had also bet 5.00 on a draw, they wont deduct that 5.00 before calculating the profit?

one further question,

if instead of -4.00 it was -100.00 for 2-0, and we wish to put a bet of £10.00 at 6.20 on 2-0,
what is the calculation for the what-if? ???

because now if we won the bet, there is a net loss of money,
will they still charge 5% on the 10x(6.2-1)?

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
