Excel 2010 does not link to MFP Pro ver 7
« on: 10 Feb 2013, 07:40 »
Hi,
has anybody tried to link Excel 2010 and MFP?
It seems not to work.
(Windows XP, Office 2010, MFP 7.0.0.43)

I just upgraded to Office 2010

Any ideas?

Theodore

Hi
Yes - it does link to Excel 2010.

Does your XP have Service Pack 3? This was a minimum requirement to install Office 2010.

Are the default file type associations correct? i.e. if you double-click a .xlsx or .xls file does it open by default in Excel, or perhaps Open Office?

Hi
It does, in fact I’m still using that spread sheet you made.
Are you still using it or are you just using the default excel book?

The main problem I have using your sheet in version 7 is I now have to add a new sheet for every market.

A few settings you’ll need are
Create a new sheet for each market needs to be checked.
Log trigger expressions needs to be unchecked.
If your using user variables run the trigger on one market first to define the variables then connect excel after. New markets can now be added.

Maddox

Hi Maddox,
It is very nice to read you again!

Yes, I am still using it.
In fact I collect infos from it, process and dispatch them to other users.

I tried Office 2010. It does link, that means it activates Excel 2010, but nothing is passed to the querymarket_sheets
(except bets infos and layout of bets, if these buttons are checked on MFP)

Perhaps, it has to do with the fact that, I am trying to link a (trial) version of Office 2010.

Even in a standard link (without my =ImportFromMFP() function),
when Excel is activated it displays "Book1 - Microsoft Excel (trial)"

If the link is by name... (trial) might be a problem...

I don't know, support team might know?

Any ideas?

Theodore

Hi
Try the setting on the Excel tab to Export account statement to this sheet. If that works then a form of link is working.

check c:\programs files and c:\program files (x86) for separate installations of Microsoft Office. This is related to the file associations I mentioned earlier (it may be associated in the wrong installation)

Hi Mark,
It opens myaccountsheet_real and myaccountsheet_test but no information is passed to them.
No, this pc has only this office 2010 (trial) installation

OK - no data link at all. I think this is one for support, sorry I can't help you further.

Theo I doubt it’s to do with a trial version because I have it working on a windows 8 ::) laptop and excel 2013 with non-working key.
Is the excel icon showing green in mfp above the back book% ?
Maybe a firewall/AV issue.
When changing settings restart mfp and close excel.exe manually from task manager. That sometimes helped me or even a reinstall of office.
Not sure what else.

Once you get sorted would you mind posting an update for your sheet so it will run without adding a new sheet for every market?

Good luck
