Excel not showing market info [SOLVED]
« on: 19 Jan 2016, 11:50 »
I have MFP with many markets in My Markets and Excel running as well. Monitoring of markets starts 5 min before event start time but no data is showing in Excel. What have I not set right?

Please check these options:
Settings -> Excel -> Don't create market sheet until...
Also it's possible to not export any market to Excel with a special button within the market interface (near the "History, min" field).

Thanks Tim. It's the button that is the problem. I clicked it "on" and the market will now be displayed in Excel. The next market opens with the button set to "off". How do I set the button "on" by default?

Settings -> Excel -> Create sheet for each market

That is set but still the markets become active with the Excel button set to "Market will not be displayed in Excel". There must be something else that I am missing...

OK folks, got it solved... MFP must start Excel before loading any markets. Obvious really.

Hmm... Now this doesn't work.

It doesn't matter what order I start MFP and Excel and load the markets, the Excel button is always "off" until I click it for each market.
This means that I have to manually enable Excel for each market every day. This isn't very handy for an automated bot. Can anyone help to solve this?

Please check all Excel related settings mentioned above.
It must create Excel sheet for each market automatically by default if opposite is not set by the settings.

Hi
I've just tested this. After clicking the Launch Excel button, every new market that is added to my markets has a sheet added to the open workbook.
If you still have problems please try a new profile with the default settings and see if it works for you.

Maybe I'm missing something here...
I have a trigger loaded that must write data to an Excel sheet.
I never want new sheets to be created or written to, other than by the trigger.
All the Settings>Excel boxes unchecked.
Do I need to click the Excel button to enable the trigger to send market data to Excel?

Oh, do you write to Excel with triggers?

Oh, do you write to Excel with triggers?
Yes, that's exactly what I do.
The trigger also reads from the same sheet. I already have a sheet prepared for this and the sheet name is used in the trigger. So I don't need any new sheets for each market.

Hi
I set my settings the same as you and tested, all ok for reading and writing market data to a specific sheet, with no market sheets added.
You need to connect MF to Excel manually first, once only, but all markets added after that transfer data fine with a trigger.

This is the sequence I did:
Open Excel workbook
In MF click Launch Excel
You will get a message asking if you want to connect to the open workbook, answer yes
You now have a connection to the workbook and it should transfer data without any problems. If you have unticked all the settings, no market sheets or bets sheet will be added.

If you close the Excel workbook you will lose the Excel connection and MF will need to be restarted to reconnect to Excel.

Hope that helps.
