  • See attached...

How on earth do I get myself out of this situation...

    Manually trading two horses...

One went OK.. one went bad... overall loss

But how do I DISTRIBUTE the loss between all selections...?

I have got tradeout and dl and gu triggers all over the place but none of them are doing anything to help spread the loss/profit!

  • With 'other' software, I'm pretty sure if you pressed that -1.79 in the top left hand corner it would actually hedge everything and that's what you would get across the field... but not with marketfeeder... why?

  • Seems that running several random passes of distribute profit, spread loss, distribute loss etc etc over and over and over again might eventually get us to all runners having the same profit / loss... but I'm sure its not the right answer!

  • Hi liltbrockie
Spread loss action zeros the loss on the traded selection with a much higher liability on all other selections.

There are various examples of multiple / collective green up triggers in the green up triggers section. But similar to your screenshot I often trade flat amounts and want to hedge profit or loss just before the off. I use a couple of simple "manual" triggers which give me more control when hedging. Have a look at these and see if they do what you want:

    PROFIT HEDGE
    LAY
    price: lay_price
    amount: profit_loss/lay_price
    all matching selections
    conditions:
markets minutes before the off is less than 0.25
and selections profit/loss is greater than 0.04
and selections back matched is greater than 0
and selections lay matched is greater than 0
and selections back unmatched is equal to 0
and selections lay unmatched is equal to 0

    LOSS HEDGE
    BACK
    price: back_price
    amount: ABS(profit_loss)/back_price
    all matching selections
    conditions:
markets minutes before the off is less than 0.25
and selections profit/loss is less than -0.04
and selections back matched is greater than 0
and selections lay matched is greater than 0
and selections back unmatched is equal to 0
and selections lay unmatched is equal to 0
