Hello,

How do I import the odds into a workbook that I already have open? When I click the launch excel button it will open up Its own workbook, but I need to import it into the workbook that I have open.

Hi,

First open the Excel sheet, then start MF Pro and press "Yes" when it asks you whether you want to connect to the existing sheet.

Hi Oxa,

I've opened my Excel workbook run MF pro, but it doesn't ask me if I want to connect to an existing sheet? And if I just press launch Excel it opens its own sheet.

A better idea would be when you press the launch excel button it knows that you have workbook/s already open and you can pick which workbook that you want from a dropdown list and which sheet. Then you can enter which cell in the sheet you want the odds to go.

Oh, and a disconnect excel button would help  :)

What version is your Excel? Can you look it up (the Excel process running) in Task Manager, in the "Processes" tab? If it is running properly, you should see "EXCEL.exe" in the first column of this tab.

I have Excel 2013 and I've just checked it's running in the task manager processes tab.

This looks like a technical issue, as normally it should be like this:

1. You open a workbook.
2. You press "Launch Excel" in MF Pro.
3. It asks you whether you want to connect to the existing sheet.
4. You press "Yes" and it does connect to it.

Obviously something's wrong. When you press "Launch Excel", does it create a new sheet in Excel 2013 as well? (I'm asking because sometimes older versions can still be installed).

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've just tried and this is what happens:

1. I've opened my workbook
2. I press Launch Excel in MF Pro
3. It opens a new workbook called book1 with sheets query, bets and Sheet1.

It's not asking me whether I want to connect to the first workbook that I opened which is strange.

hi,

In Settings; Excel; Untick the boxes.

Then close profile. Open the Excel book you want. Re-load the profile and try Launch excel

Should work

Hi LarpHager,

I've just tried that and it does exactly the same as my previous post.

It just opens its own workbook and doesn't ask if I want to connect to my existing workbook.

Thanks for trying to help though.

Maybe it's because I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus?

I dont know how to fix it.  :-\

I found out what the problem was. If I opened the workbook on my desktop then run MF Pro and pressed launch excel. Doing it this way MF Pro doesn't ask you if you want to connect to the existing workbook, it just opens its own.

To fix this I made a shortcut of Excel 2013 EXE on my desktop Right clicked it and selected run as administrator then selected my workbook that I wanted to connect to. Started MF Pro and pressed the launch excel, it then asks if I want to connect to the existing sheet I selected "yes" it worked.

I just thought that I would post this in case anyone else has this problem in the future.

I thought it had something to do with the administrator role, just was checking some other theories.
Anyway, so glad that you managed to sort this out, and big thank you for sharing it on this forum!

I also have a problem with this now.  For me - having worked fine on several previous occasions, now when I try to link to an existing workbook I get an error window that shows the balance at the top and just says "Err" in the main box.  The  link then does not work.  I have tried closing and re-opening the platform and the laptop but still the same, anyone got any ideas how to reset the relationship?  (I also have several other profiles running in case this helps anyone with a diagnosis).

Thanks
