Oh dear, I hope you haven't been testing too much and had your accounts suspended.

I'm logged in with no problems on V7.

Just spoke with our friends at Betfair.
Just found out that due to regulatory issues i now have to log into betfair.es not betfair.com. I live in Spain hence the problem. But still don't understand why i cannot log in via Exeter where the vps is.
I wonder how this will effect the platform management as it is set for betfair.com
i will email support, i shouldn't have to wait long for a reply!

Re: your VPS in UK.  Clearly Betfair can block all accounts when they know that the owner of the accounts lives in a different country.  What country do you have on the account's address?

Answer from BetFair:
Quote
During the recent licensing changes in Spain, we have now blocked all Spanish based users from logging into the API.
All visitors to www.betfair.com are being directed to the new http://www.betfair.es site which contains a holding message.
A new version of the Spanish website will be available soon, but unfortunately, Spanish users will no longer be able to access the Betfair API.
Kind Regards, BetFair team

So, I'm afraid no bots from Spain any more.

Looks like you can't place lay bets on the Spanish site, either.

Just a thought on this. Another trading application has an option to change connection mode to betfair, to be used in the event of API problems. I believe the option allows the application connection direct to the betfair website, but with much limited functionality. Could something like this be used at betfair.es?

Update: having read rubold's last, I think not.

Well the good news is that because i still have a uk address they have changed my Spain address to UK one and hey presto we are back in action!

I guess with me paying them several thousand pounds a year in premium charge commission, they were none to impressed either, that i was forced out of the game. Thanks must go to the clever Spanish politicians for the panic attack, as they definitely know how to run the economy over here!

Their most recent stroke of genius was to request from the EU 100 billion euros to rescue the Spanish banks but failed to undertake any repayment agreement. Bless them!

Cheers Mark and all the gang.
Oh I forgot to mention that there is no corruption in Spain either, But like so many other economies, banks can easily misplace 100 billion Euros...it could happen to anyone!
