Is there a way to identify horse by country?
« on: 28 Jan 2014, 09:58 »
Hi all,

I just wondered if there a way to identify horse by country?

For example, todays 13:20 Southwell meeting has 2 "normal/UK" horses, 4 IRE horses and 1 USA horse but these aren't included in the selections name.

If I wanted to build a trigger to only trade on USA horses for example, what would be the best option?

Thanks,

Whitey
Yeah! :p

hi
the nearest that you will get is to use the blocks and condition conditions
block
conditions
selections silk_sire_bred is equal to "USA"
OR selections silk_sire_bred is equal to "CAN"
AND block
conditions
selections silk_dam_bred is equal to "USA"
OR selections silk_dam_bred is equal to "CAN"

add the block containing the 2 blocks to your triggers.
it needs the 2 blocks and conditions, because there are a lot of IRE horses with just a mother or father from USA.
there is a selection Luckster, that is not showing as USA, but the father and mother are USA , maybe the mother had the foal in the UK.

Hi mcbee,

Thanks, I will give that trigger a go tomorrow.

I think the answer is no to this next question but I will ask it anyway! Is there a way to tell how many times a horse as ran that the track it's currently a selection for (using MFP)?

Thanks,

Dave
