Logging in today
« on: 28 Apr 2013, 06:49 »
Hi,

Am I alone in finding that since about 11:30 last night I cannot open a new version of MF pro.  It is true of either V6 or V7 platforms?

Has Welldone's server for verifying user credentials gone down perhaps?

I have some platforms still running that I did not close last night but cannot start new ones.  I get the helpful and informative message:

"Unable to send request, 33 Unable to send request, 33/ 12175 Empty XML Current Betfair Status Online"

Thanks MarkV,  can you think of any local reason for this happening to me then - I run it every day so not a newby?

I have internet connection as demonstrated by this post and several thousand pounds of exposure via the platform I left running last night.

It started when my available balance fell to -£1.00 at about 11:30 last night.  I closed that platform to re-open it but couldn't.  I am in the UK if that makes a difference.

Any thoughts?

Hi
I'm in UK as well so you should not have any problems.
Have you tried logging in to your Betfair account on the website to see if all is in order?

Only other thing I can suggest is shut down all instances and restart them.
Also maybe try a new profile and see if you can login then.

It appears random.  I just got one additional platform started from the laptop so thought the problem had cleared, but then could still not start any more from the other PC.  Thinkning that might be the cause I shut it down and restarted it (losing the further two running platforms (instances/profiles) I had on that,  but after the re-start I can get none open.

Very strange.  I will just have to keep trying but I wish I knew what generated this error to help diagnose the problem.

Hi
Looks like you had an identical problem some time ago
http://community.welldonesoft.com/troubleshooting-8/error-unable-to-send-request-empty-xml/
maybe time for a new battery? :)

On a more serious note, you mentioned a negative available balance. Betfair are very touchy about that which is why I asked if you checked all is OK on the website.

Yes, two years ago with a differenc PC.  The -£1.00 balance is normally a failure for the API to conntect to BF.  I have run 10 platforms each day on two pcs since then with no problems until today so it is not an inherrant problem here (but may be occasional).

On the running platform I can see a healthy balance on MF pro (not as big as I would like it  ;) (but as it should be) on both betfair accounts and I can  log into both on the BF webiste - all normal.

hi
yesterday eve about the same time (but i am in bulgaria) i to had problems with the internet.
for some reason i could not use the internet due to the DNS server not responding, this went on for hours then all went ok.
BUT what i am trying to say is that each computer/internet connection use's a certain DNS server, this then sends and receives your information, there are many servers so not every user would have been affected.
it seems that you been in uk and i been in bulgaria use the same server.
some time ago i could only get a few uk websites and others were just not available and the bot logins failed but not all my bot applications, some could login.
again this was due to the dns server been different for each website.

hope this helps you to understand  ???

MarkV,

Thanks for your help.

I tried downloading that Troubleshooter program link that was added to the previous thread and I got a message saying:

"Cannot download Troubleshooter.exe from support.welldonesoftware.com. The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response."

As to start it was affecting two computers not one I put it down to the server, or my internet connection, but as it is only affecting one,  it could be the virus protection I suppose but it was a strange sequence of events.

McBee thanks for your reply too while I was typing this - yes that could explain it.

Any ideas on how to get the internet connection to route via a different server?

Shutting down and restarting did not help.

Hi
Here could be the source of your problem, because I could download the troubleshooter fine. I am sure mcbee's post is right and you are having some internet problems.

reboot your router?

troubleshooter attached as zip file (.exe not allowed)

Hi
Possible antivirus / firewall update on the affected machine?
Re-allow feeder7.exe full access through them

Thanks for all your help.  I tried the Troubleshooter again after the last post I made and it worked fine second time around but told me I had proxy server problems but did not give me enough info to fix.

Then after my question about re-routing my connection I realised I could power down the modem and re-start that hopefully forcing a new connection.  The risk was that I lose all the working platforms that I still had running.

Anyway, whether my logic was correct or not, I powered the modem down and restarted it and restarted both computers again and all seems normal now.

Thanks again.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
