Makets finished

In the last week or so a number of horse racing markets are showing 'finished' in the morning before the race. I load new markets using market locator at about 7pm the evening before.

At first I assumed these were cancelled races but then realised that was not the case. I can not restart the markets using the top right play/pause button but I can reload them from the Today's Card list and then they start as normal. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Today, (Sat) it was the 1650 at Chepstow that stopped. Yesterday there were about 5 races where this happened.

Hi!

I think this has something to do with how BetFair marks these events shortly after adding them to the list. If an event is showing as "Finished" in MF Pro, then that's how it is fed to it by the BetFair API.

That makes sense.
However it keeps happening, in particular 5 mins before the start of a race so I missed a green up.

I use market locator to load UK Horse Racing Win markets at 1830 the night before on a refresh of 30s. To investigate I set up a trigger to monitor event_finished and log if this went non-zero prior to the start of the race. Since 1830 last night this has occurred on at least 10 of todays races. None of these markets stopped refreshing but why are they having a finished time set?

I have set MF Pro up on a VPS to monitor horse racing markets all night, let's see if I'll be able to reproduce this issue.

I've checked the code, and the only two situations in which a market will be deemed finished is either when its status is "CLOSED" (coming from BetFair) or if nothing comes back in response for MF Pro's request for data about a particular market.

Can you also attach your Program Log covering the time frame withing which the described behavior took place?

It's currently 0905 on Sunday and I just noticed that Sandown races 1400, 1430, 1505, 1540 have all stopped monitoring and are showing Finished on the GUI. However event_finished is zero for these events except and, despite them showing finished, I have been able to restart them using the blue play button.

It's now 0916 and I am seeing event_finished is now non-zero on Sandown 1515 and 1615. Now getting notification of event_finished being non-zero on 1530Wolv, 1245Cart, 1515Cart, 1620Cart.

1650 and 1710 Sand also stopped, marked finished, both with event_finished=0 but can't restart using blue play button. Reloaded these  markets and now running OK.

It's now 09:24 and there are no subsequent changes to log files.

Something very strange going on!

Are you seeing this problem as well?
Major events this morning resulting in a number of markets being stopped. I had to reload markets to get them going again.

I've attached a document with a screen shot, (taken at 09:16) and log file showing finished races.

Markets randomly stopping is very worrying as it is leaving me potentially very exposed without any warning.

Hello!
 I have got same issue with markets several times last months, I tried 3 different vps in different countries, and the problem still appeared. I found a solution, maybe it will help You.
1. I installed an older version of Market Feeder
2. I restart Market Feeder every day, as I observed the problem appeared after several days of non stop working of MF.
Surething it doesnt solve the problem globally, but it helps to correct MF work at the moment

Yes rebooting and reloading does appear to set event_finished back to 0.

Also running 2 different instances of MFP on the same PC, one with a market that gets event_finished set, the other which I load with that market after event_finished is set, the newly loaded MFP shows event_finished to be 0. ie 2 instances of MSP with different values of event_finished for the same event.

I'm running 2 copies of MFP on the same PC. Once has just shown event_finshed>0 for 1610 Goodwood, the other shows it as zero

same was for me sometimes...I ran 3 copies and 2 of them showed markets finished 1 was ok.
Last two weeks I use version 8.7.6.4 of MF and reboot everyday so it works for me with no such errors by now...
