This has happened a few times before and today it just got a lot worse.

All markets have zero money in them (at the moment).

All markets also have EVERY runner selected for firing a bet. This means I would have bet every runner today if I had not shut down MFP.

Nothing has changed in settings or anywhere else. This has just happened in the last 15 minutes or so.

I don't think this is a MFP problem. ON Betfair if I click the menu for any meeting right now i.e GB>LING then it does not list the races. Instead it goes back to the countries menu.

The only way I can get to any race on Betfair right now is to list the whole days racing and select the race from there.

I restarted MFP once and the same problem existed.

I have just started it again a few seconds ago and now the markets are as they should be with no horses selected for auto betting and the amount bet in the race is also back.

On the web Betfair interface the races still do not list, so maybe that was not the problem.

Any ideas?

The Betfair API had a major outage this morning for a while around that time, which created a lot of problems for people.  A useful bookmark is https://status.developer.betfair.com/

This lets you see immediately if there's a problem at betfair's end that can effect things for anyone using an api product.

Thank you for the replies. That is a very useful bookmark.

It all cleared up before racing started but had I not shut down MFP and restarted it then all horses would still have been selected for auto trading. This has happened a few times before and it cost me quite a bit. It could have gone the other way if all the outsiders had won and looking at yesterdays early results it would have been a nice profit.

I did not think it was an MFP problem, rather Betfair. They have got sloppy beyond belief in the past year and have had a lot of contact with them.

Have you ever wondered why a bet has not fired? You may think that maybe the market or the price was not right and just let it go. I have seen that it is not the case on a lot of occasions. Sometimes Betfair halt the race then delete it completely and reframe it and place it back up. Anyone who has a bet ready to fire in races like this will be locked out as the reframed race has a different index number. Also, any bets placed at BFSP will be cancelled WITHOUT notice.

It's always helpful to check the trigger logs in this case. If the log says the market started refreshing, let's say, 10 minutes later than it had to, then it means the market was deleted then added again (for example, if you search markets automatically using Market Locator).

The log may also state other reasons for the bet being impossible to fire. I myself check the logs on a regular basis.
