When I select 'number of places' 'equal or less than 3' it gives me races with 4 places!

Hi
Just tested it and it seems alright:
this one has 4 places:
"Horse Racing / IRE / Tram 12th Aug / 17:50 Tram 12th Aug To Be Placed - To Be Placed"

markets number of places is equal or less than 4 includes it
markets number of places is equal or less than 3 filters it

if you still have some problems could you post a screenshot of your Locator window?

Another boob on my part. I'm obviously running at a higher level of stress than I should be...  :-[

I'd been trying to get a sensible set of rules to make selection easier (and failed, by the way), and had tried 'any condition' instead of 'all conditions' - that was where the dodgy selection happened.

I'm having the same issues with selection as I was having with the triggers, one of not being able to match win & place markets. In this case I want win & place selections where the place market has 3 runners; obviously setting a rule for 3 places immediately discounts all the win markets. My strategy requires info from both to work.

I don't know if it's just me that falls foul of these restrictions, but it would be nice if MF had a better way of linking the two related markets together in general. I currently have five profiles running simultaneously (most in test) and expect to be adding more. I have no idea if BetFair will object soon, but I will be doing plenty of calls to the API that wouldn't be necessary if these would run happily together in one session.
Perhaps they can, and it's just my lack of MF experience so far that stops me accomplishing it.

Hi
It's probably better to load markets in to My Markets and then use triggers to delete superfluous.

In the attached screenshot I'm requesting Win and Place markets with number of places equal or less than 3
It returns Place Markets of 3 and less, and all Win markets because Win Markets have 1 place

In the screenshot the highlighted Win market has no corresponding Place market because the number of places is 4

So now I have a Win market with no Place market, I want to delete this Win Market, and others without their partner:
TRIGGER
Action: delete market
Win Markets
Condition Block:
AND NOT
selections trigger expression winplace_r_1_back_price is between 1.01 and 1000

This should leave you with Win and Place markets according to your spec.

You can play around with the delete condition, but basically I'm saying:
if there is no price for the Favourite in the Place market, there is no Place market, delete Win market.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
