MFP 7 Crashing
« on: 05 Mar 2013, 18:03 »
Hi All

I seem to have a problem with the Scheduled Market Search in the Monitoring Options (once in 0.05 hours).

Everytime it is enabled, MFP 7 crashes, usually, giving Abnormal Termination Errors.  Are there any known issues with this?

Also, in the login window, the application is not alowing me to Clone and Rename Profiles!  Is this supposed to work?

All feedback appreciated.

Regards
Rocco

When you're posting the reply, click on the "Additional Options" link below the text box and use the corresponding controls to attach the *.mfl file you have for the market scheduler.

You need more posts (>5) on this forum to be able to attach files. Once you have them, you'll see this option.

Hi
Just to update you and Oxa, I tested the Market Locator Template you posted and it worked fine. Also no problem here with cloning profiles.

I think the two issues you have mentioned are related, in that something on your computer is blocking certain functions of the software.

Some suggestions you can try (Oxa may suggest others):

Allow MarketFeeder full access through your antivirus and firewall

Run MarketFeeder as Administrator

Set Data Execution Prevention exceptions as follows (courtesy mcbee):
open control panel
select system and security
select system
select advanced system settings
in performance , select settings
select Data Execution Prevention
IF it is set for DEP for essential windows programs, then set it to DEP for all programs and services except those i select
select Add
local C:
Program File
MarketFeeder Pro 7
feeder 7
THEN select Add again
select teditor
Apply
OK
if you use other software you might have to include these in the except list.

Apart from what MarkV has kindly suggested, I'd also reduce the frequency at which the search is performed and see if it'll make any difference.

I will be testing this template in an attempt to reproduce the crash.

hi
this is happening because windows or some other application is blocking one or more of mfp actions.
what are you running mfp with
windows version
antivirus name
any other virus or malware checking software

thanks
mcbee

I'm sorry you are still having these errors.
We do think this may have something to do with the scheduled market search, so I'm digging in to try and find the bug there.

Are you still using the search?

Hi Oxa & mcbee

Thanks for the replies.  But no, I was not using the scheduler.  I agree there is probably a bug in the scheduler.  Witout the scheduler, I did not have any issue from Monday to Friday.  However, Saturday and Sunday, I had a lot of crashes.

Maybe, it was due to the inreased number of soccer markets available?  Are other users experiencing similar problems?

I am running two or three instances of MFP 7 simultanously on Windows 7.  I am also using very simple triggers.  I have no anti virus or malware installed and I have only MFP running on Windows.  I have 4 GB RAM. Would I have less problems if I had Windows XP?

From the crash reports I posted, can you tell what is causing the crashes?

Perhaps you should consider adding a feature to MFP which would make it restart automatically after a crash! Or else send an alert about the crash!

Anyway, thanks for now.

hi
the crash report only shows that windows shut mfp down because another application didn't like what it was doing.
that leaves DEP has shut it down
windows defender has shut it down
windows firewall has shut it down
or some other software that is running in the computers background
or if you have not set enough virtual memory to cope with the demand
