mft files icons and trigger fonts have changed
« on: 05 Sep 2014, 06:48 »
Hi,
I logged in today and noticed all the mft file icons have a diagonal
red arrow running across the icon. Should I be concerned ?
Also the trigger fonts are different.
It's not the first time I have noticed this.
Has there been any overnight changes to the program ? or could it be some issue at my end I wonder ?
Thanks

no change with my font or icons so I'm guessing it's local to your machine.

Sorry I can't help more than that.

I am beginning to think the same. I also tried my laptop and the icons on the toolbar and start menu also have the red arrow but the trigger file icons are normal. The font in the conditions block has also changed. However I would like some feedback from WD to confirm and maybe some idea what may cause this on my computer.
It all seemed to have changed when I turned on the computer this morning.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

How would WD change anything on your computer withuut you downloading an update? I don't believe they can, or would.

Hi Larp,
I'm not expecting WD to change anything on my computer. Only asking if they have any knowledge of the icons with the diagonal red arrows and what might have caused a sudden change to the appearance. They may or may not know of course. If there's no response then I will re install MFP. As of now it is still functioning ok just those changes concern me..

I am as perplexed as you are. The only crossed icon is the one for the MF Pro uninstall procedure. Could any of your software interfere with MF Pro's configuration?

If you reinstall MF Pro, all your settings and triggers will stay in place, so there is no risk in it anyway.

Hi Oxa,

For the record, the attachment shows the red arrows I referred to.
Any the wiser ?

Oh, that is an indication that you might have installed the older version 6 of MF Pro, for that is its icon.

Hi Oxa,
I installed new version 7.2.0.2 however red arrows across the trigger files remain.
My laptop with MFP installed has the red arrow icons on the start  menu and toolbar but the trigger file icons are normal. So the mystery continues. It doesn't appear to affect the performance however.

Hi Larp,
Nice to have you confirm I'm still on the right side of cuckoo land :)
I had the same problem when I first installed this version 7.2.0.2 and had to
reinstall version 7.1.0.1. see below thread.
http://community.welldonesoft.com/troubleshooting-8/help!!!!-triggetr-files-changed-to-text-editor/msg30709/#msg30709
(not sure how to convert these cut and paste addresses to proper links)
I will try and look up the previous version and try to reinstall that as done previously.
Hoping Oxa can throw some light on it.

Right, I asked the creator of the icon, and he explained that when the icon is zoomed out to a very small size, it does not have an arrow in it, but when it is zoomed in, the arrow does appear. That is how he designed it - the arrow would be looking too dingy on a smaller scale image. So it could be depending on the system configuration, the way the OS displays icons, their size etc.

Does it present any problem?

Thanks Oxa for the explanation.
It doesn't present a problem. I thought it might help me to win
but no changes there :)

Oxa,
Now that I think about it, I do recall resizing icons quite a few days ago but changed them back within minutes. Perhaps this is the cause as the creator suggested.
Thanks again Oxa
