Not matched at SP

Hi

I have been operating a relatively simple back/lay pre-off dutching system for about a week now, generating quite a few small profits and the odd small loss. Any unmatched bets are set to match at SP. This has happened reliably until the 20.45 at Dundalk on Friday 29th Nov, when a lay bet on Shaiyzar of £18.80 at 1.33 was only matched to £0.02 (in the place market I should say). The place SP returned at 1.51. I was not monitoring the race at the time but I cannot understand why the unmatched portion of the bet was not matched at SP.
As far as I can see BF did not go down around that time and there were no further non-runners after the lay was placed. Any clues?



 

Whoops! That would be the Betfair min £10 SP liability then. Can't even blame that on being an MFP newbie.

Yes this can happen with lay bets of less than £10 liability, sometimes they will be matched, but it is very hit and miss.  Oddly there is no problem in having very small back bets (<£2) matched at BSP.
