  • I throw a challenge here to help the whole community .

These days , one of my PCs had to format my drive and install the OS Win 8.1 .
After doing what I always did to leave the pc running the market feeder pro, the MFP never worked , can not take more than 15 minutes on.

I have windows 8.1 with windows firewall and windows Essentials .

What proposed to solve this and they appear to dozens of users of this software would be :
Among all here in the community to try to solve this kind of problems that may well make us lose a lot of money .

Moreover , the help of Oxana and Tim , would be critical because they know better than anyone what can happen to the program to be so sensitive to the wishes of the windows .

Finally , I think it would be fantastic, Oxa and Tim develop , along with the program and will be part of a program or a software debug to try to help to know what exactly is going on .

I think that the resolution of such problems would be a point more quality and insufficiency of this software / forum and Team Support .

    Thanks to all

  • Hi pcal72
I'm not sure if you have checked this yet, but it sounds like you are using a Windows 8.1 Power Plan which turns off some hardware if there is no mouse or keyboard activity after 15 minutes.

For MarketFeeder you really do not want to have any power saving. The disk must not go to standby, the network must not go standby, the computer must not go to sleep etc.

See the attached screenshot and when you see what Power Plan you are using, you need to expand everything that is listed and make sure nothing goes to standby or sleep. Also check advanced options from that screen.

Basically everything should be "Always On".

  • Thank you Mark

I already turn all on (hd, graphics card, usb (cause i have a rooter in usb port) , never turn self offf etc, only let monitor turns off

From my first mail i turn off in microsoft essencials the real time protection and never crash .... well till now.

Weird thing is i have in that stupid software, added mfp .exe, folder and mfp user forlder to in the exceptions .

    Thanks
This is a complicated situation to solve to all, but for new users is very very hard to solve.

  • Hi
    OK, a few more things
    Run as Administrator
    Try setting Compatibility Mode http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows
Did you do the DEP settings
    Restart computer

What exactly happens? Does MFP crash? Is there an error message? Is it always after 15 mins?

  • Hi pcal72
It looks like your installation of Windows 8, or MarketFeeder, is not a default installation.

Normally in Windows 8 all the programs will be in C:\Program Files\...
Your screenshot shows the program installed in F:\BETFAIR\Programs\....

I am not saying that this is the problem, but it does make it difficult to troubleshoot if you have a non-standard Windows installation.

Where is the Windows folder? It should be C:\Windows\

    Quote MS:
"By changing the default location of the user profile directories or program data folders to a volume other than the System volume, you will not be able to service your Windows installation. Any updates, fixes, or service packs will fail to be applied to the installation. Microsoft does not recommend that you change the location of the user profile directories or program data folders."

    OK thanks pcal72
My suggestion is to make a copy of your trigger files and locator templates, un-install MarketFeeder from F:, and re-install it in default C:\Program Files.
Re-do the settings for running as Administrator, firewall, antivirus exceptions etc.
Now test the program running from C:
