pdif_120 if refresh rate is high (1200sec)
« on: 10 Jul 2012, 05:46 »
hi
Seems that this is my first post and "suprise", it's a question about MF7 (which is great btw).
I am not sure which (if at all any) data MF7 will take, if I use let's say pdif_120 and have a refresh rate of 1200sec (started monitoring 140min before the off and history depth 140min)

Is it using the next best data?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi
I would suggest changing those numbers for testing purposes.
e.g. pdif_5 with a refresh of rate of 30sec
view pdif_5 in the view variables window to see how and when it is updated
when you are happy with how it works, you can set your numbers as you want them

hi
pdif will give what you ask.
the price difference over 120 minutes.
so if it was 10.00 odds 120 mins ago and now is 10.00 odds it will return 0.
but you do not know what happened inbetween the 120 mins.
the price could have incresed to 15.00 odds and come back down to 10.00 thus making it a steamer and drifter, the later been the most likely.
or it could have gone to 7.00 odds and back to 10.00 making it a drifter and steamer, the later been the most likely.
as for the refresh rate, the odds will be the same.
if you want to compare prices and movement, it might be better to use the maxbp_120 and the minbp_120, then compare them to the price now.
