Prevent MFP from making new Excel sheets
« on: 09 Apr 2016, 14:53 »
I have installed MFP on a PC with a freshly installed Windows Server 2012. I also have a new install of Excel 2016.
MFP Settings > Excel has all boxes unchecked.
When I click "Launch Excel" a new sheet is created for every market in My Markets. I have re-booted the PC a few times and re launched MFP and Excel but the problem persists. I don't want any new sheets to be added to my Excel workbook. How can I fix this?

Hi
Sounds like it is not saving your changes to the settings. I can't say for sure with your Operating System and Version of Excel, but here are some things you can try:

Try opening a new Profile and see if the problems still occurs

Give MF full access through all antivirus and firewalls

Run MF as Administrator

Add MF to the Data Execution Prevention exception list:

Data Execution Prevention:
Set Data Execution Prevention exceptions as follows (courtesy mcbee):
open control panel
select system and security
select system
select advanced system settings
in performance , select settings
select Data Execution Prevention
IF it is set for DEP for essential windows programs, then set it to DEP for all programs and services except those i select
select Add
local C:
Program File
MarketFeeder Pro 8
feeder8
THEN select Add again
select teditor
Apply
OK
if you use other software you might have to include these in the except list.

Restart the computer after changing any of the above.

Find the MF Settings file settings.ini in the Profile folder e.g.
c:\users\ <username>\MarketFeeder Pro 8\profiles\<profile name>\settings.ini
open the file with notepad
find this entry under [Excel]
ExcelMarkets=1 and change it to ExcelMarkets=0
save the file
restart MF and see if it has worked.

If none of those help, open a support ticket on the left hand side of this forum.

Thanks MarkV.
It seams to be OK now. Went through your list twice to fix it. When I changed back to Default profile it came right.
