  • Hi,

I was sent a list of games for today, which I am supposed to bet using the Over 0.5 Goals Markets on Football.

I thought the best way to do this would be to load up MFP, select the games, and maybe write a trigger to place bets based on the criteria I have.

My first attempt has proved impossible, because there is no way to ask for all Over/Under 0.5 Goals markets, and when I search, I am informed that I have selected over 300 markets and need to narrow down my search. I then tried to locate the markets using Soccer - Today's Fixtures, and I could not locate a lot of the games I have in my list.

Could somebody please help me out with being able to load all of the 0.5 Goals markets, from the Market selector? There must be an easier way of doing it?

    Thanks

    Mark.

  • Here is a possible workaround:

Use a MarketLocator template for doing a scheduled search. You most probably want only those markets that start within a reasonable time, say, within 6 hours. So you can narrow down your search by reducing the search timeframe (see the MarketLocator template attached).

Then you can delete the settled markets and search for new ones periodically, through the Scheduled Market Search tool (see the attached screenshot with the settings configured).

  • Thanks very much for that. This is so helpful.

Of course, now I have seen this, I want to customize it further, but could not find a way to do it.

The system I have is using the matches indicated as as shown. The criteria is that the score must be 0-0 at 52 minutes into the match. I have only ever done horses on MFP, and I can ask for a criteria of minutes after the market has started, in a trigger. In football, does MFP stop its time once half time occurs, and then continue at the 45 minute point, and as such, can I set the time after the match starts to 52, or does the period in half time get added to the clock?

I may possibly have to ask for a trigger to do what I want, but my concern is whether or not it is possible to ask for the above

    Thanks

  • Hi
Better to do that in a trigger using market variable match_minute. It's the variable for the match minute shown next to the score top-right on the main market screen.
    conditions for your trigger:
selections trigger expression match_minute is equal or greater than 52
and selections trigger expression market_score1+market_score2 is equal to 0

  • Thanks for the reply.

Is there a trigger expression or constant value for the the Over 0.5 Goals part of Over/Under?

How do I actually choose to bet on the Over 0.5 goals in my trigger?

    See image & trigger

    Thanks.

  • Hi
Add these two conditions to your trigger:
and markets betting code is over/under (soccer) 0.5
and selections index is equal to 2

  • Hi,

Could somebody please help me out with my trigger?

I am using Oxa's template to load matches as instructed.

I have tried this trigger, and as I watched the matches, for a 0-0 score (market_score1 + market_score2 equal to 0), on the Over 0.5 market (Markets betting code is Over/Under(soccer) 0.5), hoping to place a bet (selections index equal to 2) as long as the time is between 55 and 60 (match_minute is between 55 and 60), back Price greater than or equal to 1.40.

After watching matches, expecting it to place bets, it didn't, so obviously I must have something wrong in my trigger.

Could somebody please have a look and tell me if I have made some mistake in my trigger?

    Thanks

    Mark.

  • Hi
If you check your program or trigger logs you will see the reason.
    your amount is: bank_SHS*perc_SHS
according to the constants: bank_SHS=20, perc_SHS=0.011
so the betting amount is 20*0.011=0.22
    which is below betfair minimum

please check this setting: betting options > allow small bets

also just a note, in the trigger you attached the match_minute condition was not included (which allowed me to test it without waiting for 52nd minute)  :)

  • Hi MarkV,

    Thanks for the response.

I always tick allow small bets, in settings, I cant remember ever betting above £2, so always have this ticked as the first setting I change.

I must have updated my trigger to try to eliminate anything that my be wrong, hence leaving out match_minute condition.

    Thanks

  • OK, so just confirming the trigger you attached worked when I tested it.

  • OK, thanks MarkV.

Strange. I ended up doing it manually. Not sure why its not working if the trigger is working. Maybe some setting I have missed...

    Thanks

  • Just for information...

I don't really have cause to restart my machine, because I have things running that require it to be up most of the day. So, when I ran MFP the next day, I loaded the matches, and the trigger worked as expected, without me altering any settings. I still find it strange why this trigger which MarkV says was working, did not work for me at the time?

All is fine now, but I really would like to figure out what caused MFP to stop functioning. I can only conclude that it must be something I have running, which uses .NET, I develop and test software using .NET, everything else is just standard, outlook, excel, Firefox....

  • Hi

in the post is writen: "Then you can delete the settled markets and search for new ones periodically, through the Scheduled Market Search tool (see the attached screenshot with the settings configured)."

How can I set the scheduler to delete settled markets?

    thanks.
  • #14 by Oxa (WellDoneSoft) on 27 Sep 2017
  • It is not in the scheduler, it is in the "General Options".

    Delete finished/settled events automatically.

But beware of the problems with staking plans if you are running any. If you need to check the P/L of the previously settled markets, then tick "Delete all except X recent markets" where X is between 5 and 10.
