  • REDUCTION FACTOR PROBLEMS IN TEST?

Yesterday i ran 2 instances in test and in live on 2 different computers of identical triggers on v7 in test and v6 in live.

While some bets were settled with reduction factors, in both test bots it was very patchy compared to the actual results from the identical triggers in live, where the reduction factors were always clearly applied.

Do you think it is possible to improve on this, or will the test results still be distorted with what appears to be inconsistent reduction factors being applied?

In the attached you will see the two test platforms results compared to the live in column L  Let me know if you want me to find some more?

  • ONLY THE SECOND COPY THE FIRST ONE IS PERFECT THANKS.

OK, here's a tip (not quite obvious I admit): you can't launch two instances of MF Pro with the same settings profile, because it will cause a conflict of the logging system: it can't write into the same file (and both copies will send such commands to the logging system).

So, just try launching the second copy with a different settings profile. If needed, create one. If you need to make a copy of the settings (and all new profiles are created with default settings), copy the following folder under a different name into the same directory:

    c:\Users\%username%\MarketFeeder Pro 7\profiles\%profile name%.

  • with all your ie explorers  open the options  tick the  Delete browsing history on exit
and then press Delete   now click ok
this will remove all your hist info
you could also open the settings and set the disk space to a max that your computer can handle, this will give better responce.
    this may help

Hi Mcbee thanks for that tip, i did that and have lost all my usernames to all my web sites, luckily i remember most of them. sadly the idea makes no difference with getting the statement on to a spreadsheet though. and trying Firefox instead also makes no difference.
Interestingly though with only around 50 results so far today, I.EX is working fine exporting to the statement, but still refuses to do anything with yesterday data. Firefox however wont export the 50 lines from today at all.

Not sure what settings you refer to about the hard drive though as i see none in MFPRO or IEX
    Cheers

Hi Oxa thanks for the suggestion I have been trying to understand exactly what you mean....
the default install shows the logs and statements are all subdirectories of profiles, the first one being “default”
Are You are saying I  need to create another one for the second platform. Any chance you can clarify how to do this, so i dont make a mistake. Maybe just point me to part in the manual where it explains in more detail how to run a second copy of V7. I have checked but so far cannot seem to find it.
    Thanks again.

Unfortunately it's not in the manual, but now I'm going to add this info.

I think you may be flattering me with more tech intelligence than i actually have!
Regrettably i still am unsure as to how to actually execute your suggestion
I understand you are very busy so maybe another forum member can clarify the process required in order to run multiple V7 bots as you have described above?

  • Hi
To keep the same settings as your current default profile:
    Create a new folder: C:\Users\andy\MarketFeeder Pro 7\profiles\instance2
    Copy the contents of:
    C:\Users\andy\MarketFeeder Pro 7\profiles\Default
    to
    C:\Users\andy\MarketFeeder Pro 7\profiles\instance2

It is worth doing the above anyway, because it is in effect a backup of your default settings

Or, just create a new profile called instance2 (or whatever you want to call it) and manually set all the settings again.

Now you can start the first instance with the ‘default’ profile
and start the second instance with the ‘instance2’ profile

If you are still struggling let me know.

  • Oxa please could you confirm it is OK to run multiple instances from the same installation, or do you need to install another instance of the program in a separate location?

  • Hi all,

I understand how you create a new directory, what I do not get is how you tell the second version of V7 to address that second profile you have created.

In V6 you could have a separate install of the program (that is the .exe file etc) and on starting that version,  tell it where to put the log files in the "trigger options" tab in settings.  (I run nine of these every day).

However, that option does not seem to be there in V7 so how does it know not to write to the same default profile - which is what Oxa was telling us to avoid ?

    Ohhh I feel stupid !

Could one of you please explain.  Many thanks.

    Alfaman
