All sounds so complicated especially with the Notepad in the mix.
I thought I could have   saddle, horse and odds data   3 columns in total, streaming from MFP via the Launch Excel function
on one sheet and at say avg. 10 horses per race and 30 races with headings
make up around 330-340 rows. all down columns A,B & C in the spreadsheet and refreshing every minute or so.
Then I would have the trigger execute data from other columns in the same spreadsheet which correspond with horse name
and bet amount in same row as the streamed data. Meaning if horse Frankel appeared in B12 from MFP. Then  my formula would match same row
say cell E12 and Bet amount F12.
All of this without the need for VBA is that not so ?
Thanks for your patience Mark during this festive break. I think I need another glass of ginger wine :)

Hi
Please see attached screenshot. This trigger writes Saddle, Horse, Odds of all selections in all refreshing markets directly to Excel and is dynamically updated at the refresh rate in the constant.

That's brilliant. and in absence of race headers is it possible to include 'OFF' time and net number of runners next to each horse ?
making that 5 columns. I'm assuming we have dispensed with the need for Notepad.
Curious why we need quotation marks I remember having them in an earlier trigger attempt, is it for MFP solely to read Excel data ?
Cheers.

Hi
Please see attached.
Quotation marks are required for correct spacing of text strings which contain spaces.

Happy New Year to all,

Hi Mark,

I'm a bit lost on the destination for the data and its proximity to my data formulas.
If I launch Excel it loads up all the races and formats I don't need.
I was hoping I could download the data to a sheet in my raceday workbook from where I can configure
an  MFP trigger to place the bets that qualify.

Thanks

Ian

Hi
Happy New Year

The instructions for Excel settings are in the link in reply#14. Basically I modified the example trigger in that link to output what you require to a single sheet that would be updated live. The modified trigger and the output are shown in reply#18.

If you want to change the output to your raceday workbook, in the trigger replace all references to 'horse_sheet' with your raceday sheet name.

If you are happy generally with what I demonstrated but are not confident to modify the trigger yourself, or you need some further help with your specific requirement, please put in a trigger request to Oxa.

Got it working, a masterstroke  :)
However a couple of issues that I have readily noticed..
1) MFP has crashed. Screen has frozen.
2) The last selection has been duplicated.
Almost there!

I noticed the last odds downloaded is not the BSP and wondered if there is something I've overlooked.
The winner was Headland Southwell 1.45 downloaded odds 11.5 BSP 9.55
Cheers

Hi
Firstly BSP only known when market turns in-play. Do you have the constant set to record prices in-play?
Then with the Excel DDE link active you will get at best a refresh rate slower than 1 sec and the price is very likely to have moved either way.

If you need to record BSP on your spreadsheet it would be better to add another trigger to write the BSP to the sheet; market status: in-play
