Thanks again for the reply.

If I set the refresh to 60-120 secs for a list of 200-500 markets do you see any potential problems in regards to MFPro performance or BF charges etc? Also not sure but if I have hundreds active will the 5 - 10 that are inplay which I want my bot to be focussing on suffer while the monitor cycles through all the other active not in-play markets? Not sure how this works though so I might be off here.

If you feel this is the best solution though then I will try modifying the triggers tomorrow.   :)

OK well I tried this and my hypothesis on the previous post seem to have had some weight.

Basically I had approx 700 markets in my markets all active @ 120 idle and about 5-10 active in play @ 0.5 refresh. Was trading fine for a while but the in play markets started to freeze occasionally. This is a problem as my triggers need at least 1 sec updates to function effectively and these markets weren't freezing for a few seconds, 1 min or more was the norm. They did kick back in though so it wasn't a complete crash - I'm guessing my limiter was making sure I didn't exceed the charge thresholds? but I can't say for sure.

For now I am resorting to rebooting MFPro every 24 hours as it's the only way I know to get my bot to work properly.  I will need to sort this out though at some point, but for now it's not a priority as I have a work around.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, I'm sure there must be some people in the forum that use MFPro similarly and don't need to reboot every 24 hours. I'd like to hear from you please! Even if you just have an idea I could try. This software is so versatile there is bound to be something that can be done.

Crap today a £14.29 Data Request Charge for over 20 per sec 01/09/11.  Yesterday was the only day I  tried to activate all markets as suggested with a 120 idle refresh, so I'm guessing it was due to that.  Anybody know if that would cause charges?  If anyone has a clue please let me know.

I have the limiter set to 19. I occasionally click refresh in running when markets get stuck, but it is nowhere near once a second. I have a browser open but hardly ever use it, only if I need to double check my current bets when testing new triggers etc. Does leaving the window open cause data requests in excess of 1 per second? If so then perhaps this is pushing me over my limit. Do you guys set your limiter lower? Like 15?

What settingss would you guys recommend to avoid charges with a browser open at the same time?

hi
first send an email back asking if they could please refund the charge as it was not your intention to over use the api.
ask for data request info for the next few days so that you can see what has happened as you are still learning how to set the bot.
then set you request limit to 15, because any more then you can go over with mulitple markets all starting at the same time, the monitor cannot react fast enough to stop the markets.
set you idle refresh as low as possible to monitor the markets.
if you dont realy need fast inplay then set this to a low setting.

Thanks mcbee.  A one off charge is not my main concern as it was made back by the bot soon after. I just want to make sure it's not a regular expense as my tactics don't need super fast refresh rates anyway, so it's a bit of a waste.  Since setting it to 15 haven't received any charges so I think that might of done the trick. Idle refresh rates also down to 300 secs so hopefully that'll be the end of it  :)

Thanks again for your help.

Hi JS

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure that being logged into the website will be a problem for you.  As far as I understand it, requests to the website are weighted double, and MFP can only limit requests that it knows about, not ones being made independently through you being logged in to the website.  Looking at your account info on the web may well push you over even if you have mfp set to limit to 15.

hi
betfair told me that checking your account details etc on there website is nothing to do with the api rates.
but if you log in and check there race odds etc, then this is double the api rate.

There's no real need to check prices via the browser so I will just close that window as well.

Thank's again for the advice.  8)

Rebooting MFPro once a day works for me. Not really that big deal but it works for me.
We only live once.
