  • Hi
Sorry for your trouble. Your trigger works OK - it's been verified by more than one user. The only other thing I can suggest, if at all possible please try it on a stand alone Windows PC.

PS it turns out the the other user is also having problems viz. mac/parallels

  • Hi Mark,

Thanks, but it is very frustrating as I am sure you can imagine.

Is there any information or settings that you can give me that I can share with Parallels so that they can understand the issue and invistigate on their side? I tried a support request but I don't think they get it...

    Thanks
    Jon

  • I don't use a mac myself, but what I gleaned from the other user is he reinstalls parallels, and then reinstalls MFP. It works for a while and then the problems recur. He repeats this process which is not really sustainable.

As mcbee says, it has got to be a firewall / antivirus that is stopping critical operations of the software. I am sure the same goes for your VPS.

  • hi
i have been looking into this Parallels a bit
could you tell us how much memory you have allocated to Windows and how much is allocated to Mac OS
as this and the other user could be a memory problem
if there is not enough memory for windows then mfp will shut down
also if there is not enough memory for mac os, this to will slow down causing windows to slow down and again causing applications to crash.
when you run windows on a desktop/laptop, it uses the hard disk as extra memory if needed, but this might not work with parallels,
to reduce memory usage you must untick all mfp logs and if not using the history depth for monitoring then set this to .50 min

  • Thanks Mcbee, that may explain the mac but not the VPS.

With regards to the Mac, these are the settings currently

    CPU 1
Memory 1024MB (well within recommended zone)
    Video Memory 256MB
    Enable vertical synchronization

    Thanks

  • Well i'll be damned...

I ran it today with the simple trigger "laying on the favourite in the place markets" and by jove... it worked!

Placed bets all day no problem.. the only thing missing was a profit :-)

So what ever changes i made, look like they may have worked.

I'm going to test it overnight on my vps and then try out my own trigger tomorrow.

    Wish me luck guys :-)

  • From elation back to dispare

I tried running MFP with my trigger today and it has just missed a market where it should have placed a bet.

Please see the attachments. The trigger logs don't even show any records and it seems to still be looking at the old trigger from yesterday?

Please help. I thought we were so close...

  • hi
it looks like you loaded win markets into mfp and the trigger is looking for place markets.
or there is no place market for that meeting.

    mcbee

had another look and you loaded your other trigger
did you turn the triggers on after loading
when you load a new trigger the lamp turns red (OFF) for safety until you turn it on

  • Hi

The place markets was what the trigger yesterday was looking at. Today it should have been the win market

I uploaded the trigger and clicked reload after saving.

The red bulb was showing so I changed to green.

So I think I did everything I was supposed to?

  • hi
the only thing i can just about see is that you have not changed the variable in your sp trigger to
    var_min_LP
    var_max_LP
    you still have var_min_L_PRICE
this means that not trigger action was done so no trigger log

  • Hi
mcbee is correct - both corrections referred to in post 43 should be done, or the trigger will not work.

As a general rule, if I am loading a new trigger, or change any setting, I save the changes and restart MFP before loading in the markets. This starts MFP fresh with the new settings or new trigger.

  • Thanks guys, i didn't build the trigger but it seems to me that it is set as var_min_LP and var_min_LP

See the attached - is there somewhere else that also needs to be updated to reflect this?

    Thanks

  • Hmm can't find it.

Which section is it likely to be under

    General
    Data Monitor
    Win/Lose History
    Market Variables
    Selection Variables
    Matching Selection
    Excel
    Remembered Selection
