  • Before going to real money I am trying to allow for any contingencies.

For example, I did a search for 'sleep mode'.

A comment from MarkV re getting MFPro to send a regular email with information caught my attention.

It may be relevant to my question:

"Make sure your computer does not go to standby or sleep or power saving mode because this will stop the program from working."

Is this a general truth for MFPro or only relevant to the particular situation of sending an email?

If my computer goes to standby or goes to sleep mode does this mean any triggers will become inoperative?

Also, if I have an internet blip or outage is there anything I need to be wary of?

    Thanks for any advice.

  • Yes, if your PC sleeps, hibernates or restarts due to a Windows update, then all applications including MFPro will be affected.  You can adjust the power settings to prevent sleep/hibernation, but make sure you also modify the Windows Update settings to download updates only and request permission to install or restart.

  • An internet outage won't stop MFPro running, but the program can't place bets when this occurs.  Running on a VPS will minimise all these problems.

  • Hi
also as a suggestion, on mine I have moved some scheduled but resource-hungry maintenance tasks e.g. antivirus full scan and disk defrag, to run at a time outside of MFP trading hours.

I will adjust the Windows settings accordingly.

  • benko, we are preparing our own VPS offering with support, should be available by September. For now, just look for a cheap UK or Netherlands service.

Yes, if you can't for the Welldone offering, but PM me for the details as I don't want to compete with Welldone on the public forum.
