The Word Dormant In Event Name
« on: 11 Dec 2016, 02:57 »
Since I changed from greyhound markets to Australian horse races I now get the word Dormant in the place market like this To Be PlacedDormant?.
I did not see this when test betting on the greyhounds, when the bot was betting normally.
Does this mean that something is wrong with the setup and no bets will be placed?.

Hi
I think what you are seeing is the Race Status field. It is active in GB and IE and some other countries horse racing.
Dormant - There is no data available for this race;
Delayed - The start of the race has been delayed;
Parading - The horses are in the parade ring;
Going Down - The horses are going down to the starting post;
At The Post - The horses are at the post;
Going Behind - The horses are going behind the stalls;
Under Orders - The horses are loaded into the stalls/race is about to start;
Off - The race has started;
Finished - The race has finished;
False Start - There has been a false start;
Photograph - The result of the race is subject to a photo finish;
Result - The result of the race has been announced;
Weighed In - The jockeys have weighed in;
Race Void - The race has been declared void;
Abandoned - The meeting has been cancelled.

Thank you Mark for helping out!

raldridge, knowing the race status can help you greatly to determine the right time to place your bet, as you can literally make your triggers "watch" the preparations for the race. You can set them to act when the horses are "at the post" for example, and not just "1 minute before the off".

So this Dormant thing only works in the UK or Ireland not in other parts of the world like Australia.
That is why it is grayed out for us?.
The annoying thing for us is it covers over part of the event information like in place markets how many place pay outs on this event.

You can still use 'Markets number of places...' in your trigger conditions though and on my Aus window I can still read the number.

Do you run MF Pro on a device with a limited screen width? Could you attach the screenshot of what you see when that word covers other essential market information?

And yes, BetFair only provides this info for UK and IRE markets.
