  • Frequently getting a frustrating problem where Time Machine does not respond to pause or stop requests...
    It just carries on playing, if I hammer the stop button it will eventually after about 30 seconds stop.

    how many markets are you monitoring when this happens , if you monitor lots of markets in fast mode it takes time to respond.

    So does it happen when you have under 50 markets in your list? In that case, please attach the screenshot demonstrating the problem.
