Unusual readings Back_price1 and back_price2
« on: 04 Dec 2014, 20:10 »
hi

I have been getting unusual prices/amounts in the back_price 1 and 2 columns. I noticed it yesterday and it occurred regularly again today. In particular it showed whenever I opened a price ladder. Not sure whats going on! It shows the 1.03 and 1.02 price ranges even though the horse has not traded at anywhere near that level. Also, I believe the amounts are incorrect too, 3889, 3928, there is no way inrunning that those amounts could be correct at that back price.
see attached

Any ideas please

hi,

i have been getting these wrong figures all day today. it is quite off putting especially inrunning with a ladder open.

On the attached example, the amounts circled in red are the total amounts traded immediately above and below the price line. this example is pre off. i have deleted the profiles and started new ones, but still the problem occurs. I think it only started with the latest build released, but cant say for certain.

Thanks
Larp

hi
the thing that i see that is no normal, is the prices, you should never get 1.02 before 1.03 and 1.01 before 1.02, that is 1.03 then 1.02 and 1.02 then 1.01
so there is something wrong with the api or mfp on the lower price range.
i will send oxa an email.

Ok, thanks mac

Btw, I have never seen the api so fast, 0.20 is usually 0.45 or so for me. Right now it is 0.22 and consistently that speed. I wonder is anyone else getting better than ever speeds?

Good job Well Done  :)

I think all of us do. It just amazes me how they do these things.

Hello all,

I have identified the reason of this problem. Prices used to be sorted when they arrived from BetFair, now they are not, so this makes them look like they do.

This only happens if you open the Ladder while refreshing the market prices, and only with the selection that is in the Ladder.

I am preparing a fix. Should be ready today.

Hi,

This is my first post, so I hope that it is relevant.

I am using Time Machine in engineer mode with view user variables open in order to to monitor values.

The selection variables back_price/2/3 appear to no longer be returning any values.

This also appears to affect other connected variables such as back_amount, etc.

Looks like you are on to the root cause, but just in case, I am not a window cleaner, so no ladders involved!

Can I add that I have had great support form the Team.

hi catwizud
i just tested the latest version .12 and all work ok.
i typed in the box back_price, the box below back_amount
the next box back_price2 the box below back_amount2
all values were there and changed as they should.
could you please include a screen shot of your engineer mode and of your settings.

Hi Mcbee,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have just tried 8.0.0.11 and that is not working either! Almost certain it was.

My OS is win8.1.

Two jpg's attached.

As you can see back_price is the top row, back_price box 4, the only one not working!

Just hope it is me again.

hi,

Stand down, I have found the problem.

I had quickly shortened a constant name to 'back' initial value '0'.

Do not ask me why!

Initially I thought that every variable just had to be unique.

As I have become more familiar with the 'reserved variables', I have noticed how some groups appear to concatenated from single names, such as 'back_price', 'back_amount', etc.

This set me thinking that maybe pre-fixes or part names may also be 'reserved'.

Bottom line is what cannot be used within a user variable.

Thanks again.

Please note, BetFair is seems to be currently OFFLINE
