I find Time Machine to be an excellent tool for analysing triggers .
Having spent over 18 months developing and analysing triggers I would like to suggest that the developers consider modifying the Time Machine to allow a test over a longer period than 1 day. How about a 'select between 2 dates' so that the Time Machine could run continuously say a months results or even longer. This would really test a strategy over a longer term without having to repalce the file very few minutes.
Just set it and let it run and come back later to check the results.
