  • Hello,

Frustratingly, X-Feeder has crashed two days in succession when running Time Machine, on a straightforward 30 day backtest of a turbo poker trigger. Logging is turned off to improve performance. It runs for several thousand games, then I get these messages (see attached file for screenshots):

An exception (0EEDFADE) occurred during DllEntryPoint or DllMain in module:
    C:\Prorgram Files (x86)\xXFeeder\timemachine\timemachine.dll

    and

    Abnormal program termination

The application itself shuts down, leaving these messages. There are no other significant applications running at the time, and this has only recently started happening but there has been no change to any software installation.

I know these boards are almost dead at the moment, but please could someone advise as soon as possible as to what could be causing this. I paid decent money for the full product with Time Machine, and to now have it crashing every day is not acceptable.

    Thanks.

  • UPDATE.
I have traced this possibly to a problem with Time Machine TURBO POKER data on the 26th December 2016. I have no idea what the data problem is, but EVERY time I run TM with data from around 22:30 for the remainder of the 26th December, the application crashes. Running TM up to, and including, the 25th December works fine, as does running TM for 27th December onward.

Perhaps there is some rare anomaly in the Betfair data that occurs now and then, which Time Machine cannot cope with..?

Is there anybody out there that cares..?! (I know it's the Christmas holidays, but still...)

  • Just choose another month's data.  The fact that a problem occurs at a specific point among millions of games data is hardly a valid reason for complaining about the decent money you paid for the programs.  The programs work perfectly and the data are free.

  • Unfortunately due to many BetFair error that day all the data was corrupted.
Sorry for inconvenience, we deleted 26 Dec 2016 from our database.

  • Thanks for the replies chaps. In my original post I did not know it this problem was being caused by the data, hence my grievance. It took me some time to investigate the error myself and trace it to a repeatable failure with the data for 26 December 2016, although I could not see what it was in the Betfair source data that was causing the problem, and I don't think we have visibility of the Welldone database..?

That said, I would not agree that the application works perfectly as there is clearly something amiss in the data validation / error handling routines because the application does not handle data errors well. I would expect the application to at least stay live, and perhaps report the errors either in one of the logs and/or as a pop up message, rather than crash with an unhandled exception. I don't think I'm being unreasonable in this.

RE free data - the data are not free in my opinion. They are free directly from the Betfair site, but X-Feeder requires use of Time Machine, which seems to use a Welldone database that is populated with Betfair data (presumably from live data collection). As far as I am aware, one cannot retrospectively process the historic data without paying for Time Machine, therefore there is a cost.

Anyway, thanks for confirming that there was a data error that caused this. Happy new year everyone - hope it goes well.

  • BetFair data doesn't include prices.
We do all our best to check the data but sometimes due to BetFair server error they are not valid and cause such error.
