Recoupment trigger
« on: 15 Mar 2011, 16:52 »
I've asked around and not had a positive response.  I am willing to pay someone for the commission of preparing a set of triggers that meets my (urgent) needs.

I lay, generally between 4 and 12 in the Win Racing market, staking a % of bank and triggering at 0.3 minutes before the off and stopping at 0.1 minutes before and not being Kept In-Play.  I'm finding I can get about a 10% failure rate so that the bank is inching up (only on the metric scale and, therefore, more slowly still).  I reckon that a recoupment cycle of 3 is reasonable safe.  So that's the basic element.

Realistically and despite the stats, I'm likely to hit a further loser during the cycle, so that has to be coped with.  This brings the risk that stakes can go exponential with one or more further losers before subsequent cycles are complete.  Therefore, there is a need to have some sort of governor.  I like the idea of not laying where odds*stake>Bank * 20%.

I'm not 100% sure whether I want market odds or Betfair SP.  Having read that SP is a better laying proposition than market I'm leaning in that direction.

The only other issue is to have the recoupment triggers self-contained to the market/trigger block for which they are intended so that, say other trigger systems can run on their own, say greyhounds or the Place market, which may be running concurrently.

Me again.

There's every chance that the trigger "Laying then recouping loss in several steps" in the Ready to Go section may be the basic framework to what I need but I lack the confidence and skills to make the transition to the program I seek.

So, I'm still open to paying for a working trigger but you experts may only need to do the conversion (if I'm right)

Pretty please

hi
i have converted the step recovery for you.
lay any selection 4 to 12 odds
between .1 and .3 mins before the off
if test mode then test balance/100 or live balance/100 for the stake
if the current loss/ steps is more than 20% of you balance, then no bet.
horse racing only.

use in test mode first to see what problems there is
also you must untick delete markets in the settings, as it needs the last market to be settled.

A note of thanks to McBee for out and out generosity of spirit and helpfulness.  You've given me a great headstart - though, as a warning to everyone, I'm not sure about the Max bet function operating as a limiter to the level of potential loss, Basically it doesn't trigger.  The intention was to stop the bet if the odds/stake combination threatened a losing result that would cost more than x% of Bank.

A small hiccup I am trying to solve but let it not take away from  the openness of heart of a fellow better.  I wish you full boots!

hi
with lay betting it is not a good idea to use recovery, unless you know that your max losses in a row is 2 or less.
there is a staking plan that does not use recovery, but is a bit slow.
your first bet is your stake
if you win then you reduce your stake by 10%
if you win again you reduce your stake by 10%, until stake is say 20% of original stake, then stay at 20% until a loss, with a loss it goes back to first stake.
this way when you lose it is allways a lower stake than your first, thus reducing the loses.
you can also include, stay at first stake until losses are cleared, thus never increasing your stake.
